Good Morning everybody! I managed to make it through yesterday without having a chocolate frenzy (did have a couple of nibbles off daughters egg but no one was looking so it doesn't count!):o :rotfl:

On a more serious notes - I am suscribed to about 6 differend forums on here and about the same threads. I always sit down with my morning coffee and read through them - but this morning there were only 2 threads!

This forum wasn't there and neither was the Old Style one and they are the ones I read first! Any advice on what I should do? I have checked and I am still suscribed to them all. And they all did have people posting on them yesterday.

    Thanks
    Marion

    You are very welcome [Bmalima[/B]:j

Good morning retiredlady this thread was merged yesterday but then some of the mergers did not want to be in this thread.....

We are off as a family today to a huge park with swings, picnic area etc so the kids are up and well excited:D

We were going to another one but it turned out that it was 64 miles away:rotfl:

I have packed all the healthy picinic for me and they have loads of lovely goodies but will not touch theirs and I guess they will not touch mine either:rotfl: :rotfl:

These past 3 days have been long and full of food temptation but resisted as I am excited about getting weighed tomorrow and hoping for a good results thanks to all my efforts.....

Can I join too? I liked the idea of the new OS thread, that's why I joined, but I'm more than happy to join in here...it's great to meet new people!

To recap, I've been doing WeightWatchers online for two weeks, weighing in on a Monday - I've just weighed-in and have lost 1lb. My current weight is 11st 9lb.

If you read back to where we were merged, you'll see I'm the one who doesn't like chocolate much  That's probably why I managed to lose a pound this week...

    Cheers
    D.

    Hi,
thought I'd already put my name on this - Doh!

Anyway, today will be day 2 of the new me (NOT!)
Been for 1 hr walk this morning - bit colder here in the North today, sun not out yet. May encourage me to finally do my ironing - at least I can't eat with an iron in my hand:confused:

Am planning a fry up type lunch - just me here today - Quorn sausages, tomotoes, mushrooms, beans, maybe syn free chips. All free foods as far as I can tell so will feel very virtuous!

Its a pity you can't gain syns by exercise like you can earn points with WW!

Keep up the good work everyone - Easter is officially over in my house as far as chocolate is concerned (i.e. there's none left!)

    R xx

    PS Welcome Ishtar!!

Hey! I also didn't mean to cause offense when I said I didn't want to join a new thread. I just would rather join something new than something that has been going for a while as it feels like everyone is starting a fresh.. I don't have anything against anyone from the old thread and I can understand it's a 2 way thing..

I dunno why I just wouldn't feel comfortable in an established thread. I prefer to work within new developing friendship groups rather than having to break into a group that already knows each other.. I'm not sure why, I just feel more comfortable that way.

I also understand merging threads can make the board tidier and stuff.. but I feel it does get a bit over zealous around here. I can understand perfectly merging threads about the same offer - it means that if there is any problem with how the item works or getting the offer or whatever everyone that is concerned can help each other out..

However I don't think merging is needed as much as it is. There is no justification in terms of speed for the board. It doesn't mean there's any more traffic on the board - the traffic is just in different places. It doesn't make the board any slower or use any more resources. Boards are designed to run multiple threads!

If there are two groups of people discussing similar topics but are doing it from different viewpoints or whatever it can be confusing for both parties if things are merged.. I don't see how if someone wants to start a new group why they should be asked to join an older on instead. They must have a reason for wanting a new group or they'd have joined the older one in the first place.. (unless they didn't know about it I suppose)

I guess we could start a diet group on a different board or in a different place - such a a yahoo group - but it won't be the same because we're always here.. so it's just easier.

Anyway - I don't mean to offend people - I just want to justify my reasons a bit.

Morning All - Rachel - that breakfast/brunch sounds great - what time shall I come round at :D

We've gone a bit off plot yesterday so lets get it back on target today ;)

Welcome twinkle, malima & Ishtar  Well done on the losses so far - and Ishtar - I wish I didn't like chocolate  Lucky you lol

Lellie- I understand your reasons, don't feel you need to justify them- but this thread is one of the ones on MSE that is in no way "clicky" at all. We all just get along with it and when someone else starts posting they get welcomed and join in with the reason we are here. If you went to a SW, WW, whatever class to lose weight you would have new folk joining in there too each week- at the end of the day we are all here to lose weight, regardless of how long we have been trying for and if you do decide to hang around you will be made very welcome. I hope you change your mind - there's lots of good advice on here and I'm sure you, and the others, would be able to benefit from that as well as share your advice and tips with us.

Anyway, lets get over the OS/Lose weight barrier and move on......

Hi Stilernin - I'm not sure if Honey has replied (been away and haven't had a chance to read all the posts yet!), if you weigh yourself rather than going to a slimming club, it would be easier from my point of view if you weigh in on Wednesdays.

    Thanks,

    LL

Okey dokey........ am working towards Wed now......... fingers crossed. Only 6 days and Easter in the middle!!
