    Hello all!
Some of the more longstanding members of the thread may remember me - unfortunately I haven't been around for about 2 months due to OH issues, family problems and work, but luckily all has now been sorted out and everything seems to be back on track. OH and I now back on an even keele, family recovering from operations and illness but all making good progress and no travel planned with work this month (I travel abroad a lot and whilst it sounds glamourous it's a right pain in the bum sometimes).

So, now's the time for a fresh start - I have just weighed and have only put on 5lbs in the past 3 months (Jan- March) which is a miracle considering the rubbsih I've eaten, wine I've drunk and lack of exercise (the only saving grace is walking the dog a couple of times a day!). I'm 35, 5ft 5" and 10st 9 (on my scales which weigh heavier than SW scales) - I lost over a stone before Xmas and want to get to 9st 13lbs again (Just to under the magical 10st mark!!!).

I've decided to try and go it alone (usually go to SW when on a diet) because my irregular working hours make it more difficult to get to class regularly and I seem to pay for something I rarely use. I'm toying with just cutting down and taking more exercise and doing SW at home. I'm a veggie so SW is better for me than WW or Rosemary Conley.

I'm going to start tomorrow as OH and I are going out for dinner tonight which will be my final fling as far as piggy eating goes - we're not doing Easter Eggs and have just been shopping so have plenty of "good" food to make a good start.

So expect to see a lot more of me again!

By the way - I'd like to join in the 5lbs by May 5th thing too please!

Have a great holiday weekend, thanks for listening (I do go on a bit!)
    Cheers for now
    Rachel

Hi Rachelmk I do SW and find it def works best for me.

Thanks Honey and Victory I cant believe how good I feel at the moment. Losing weight seems to have done a lot for my confidence, even OH says I seem a lot happier in myself. I did it for my health initially and it has definatly improved that. I think I might act happier because I'm not in constant pain now:D

Went to watch my beloved Leeds win today, They scored twice and guess who was having a wee both times:rotfl: I've got the bladder of a gnat I think:o DS's found it hilarious but we still had a great afternoon. I ran down the steps to get to the loo quicker but had to stop as my trousers started falling down:rotfl: Not a good look.

Anyway have a good Easter everyone and if you can't resist all that wonderful chocolate just start day 1 on Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday:p My kids have a tin of Quality street each ( cheaper than an Easter Egg), which I will find extremely difficult if not impossible to resist...

Try not to have fruit after meals you can be doing alot of damage to yourself as
fruit is designed to go straight through you.

    the diabetic nurse recommends it:D

Crumbs have I had a resistance day:D went to the SIL buffet all day (had my own lunch before I arrived) never picked at one single pringle, nut or any of the food whatsoever, came back with 5 eggs each for the kids, get in and now some friends have popped round with take-away:eek: H is sitting with them away from me in the kitchen so nothing bad at all all day has passed my lips but what a challenge:j :j :j

SIL brought out 3 different cakes with ice cream, fresh cream still no thank you, I will benefit more from what I am eating on tuesday weigh day than I ever would eating what has been offered to me today:D

I am done now though beanie:j I have had and here is the list.... pringles, nuts, mackoys, a whole buffet (jacket wedges, gammon and pork meat, sausages, full fat coleslaw, well anyway a whole list:j ) plus 3 desserts, choc torte, lemon meringue or fruit torte with ice-cream or fresh cream, then the take away of fried chicken and chips and carting 5, no 10 easter eggs for the boys about the place, THAT IS IT:j :D

My family's reaction to the weight loss(have not seen them for 8 months) was some did not comment at all:o one said I had lost a little bit of weight (2 1/2 stone is not a little bit of weight:eek: ) and my sister said she was very proud of me and I look fabulous:j and spent ages guessing the weight and I would not tell her but my big mouthed 6 year old did:rotfl:

It may be even more of motivation for me when I look around at the 20 of us gathered for the buffet and not one of them has any weight issues apart from fat ol me, so that keeps you on the straight and narrow even more to loose the rest and be just like them!!

No quality street or choc bar could ever make me feel as good as every tuesdays weight loss xx

    Hi all

Welcome back Rachel - pleased to hear life is improving for you. Good luck with the weight loss this time. You must be quite pleased that you only gained a few pounds :D

Victory - well done for resisting all that temptation. Your family must be short sighted, or just thoughtless, if they can't tell you've lost 2 stone 9 pounds! You've done remarkably well and deserve recognition for it, but don't worry, you can rely on us!

Froggy-girl - thanks for the information about fruit, it's the first time I've heard about that theory. It's completely opposite to the way I use fruit - I eat it instead of high calorie snacks between meals and for dessert after meals, which is completely the wrong thing to do! And I'm sure I'm not alone. Maybe I should have my day's ration of fruit for breakfast, instead of cereal, and see if it has any effect on my weight. Is that what you do?

Joji - well done for getting slimmer of the month :T even better as it was a surprise.

Enjoy the rest of the Easter weekend - the weather has been lovely here, I hope everyone else is enjoying some sunshine.

    Hi all,
Flipping eck Victory - will of steel!!!
Been out for last fling dinner and had 3 dough balls, mushroom and spinach starter, and cannelloni for mains (and about 2 bites of apple crumble thingy- stuffed by then, OH polished it off!)
Also had a few glasses of wine but have since taken the dog out for a walk/jog and now feel a bit sick from all the food jiggling around!!
Anyway, tomorrow is DAY 1. Absolutely definitely!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend off,
    Take care
    Rachel.
