For easter Sunday we are going to my SIL and she always puts out the exactly the same buffet be it easter or xmas, she buys all the stuff from Tesco and the table is laid out like this.....

Salad (just a little cucumber, tomato and a little lettuce)....

Little sausages done in the oven....

    Sliced Gammon or pork....

    Quiche.....

Chicken wings/chicken nuggets/chicken legs with a sauce on them (barbecue/honey and mustard)

Potato salad and coleslaw full fat ready made from the pots at Tesco...

Jacket potato wedges done in the oven.....

    Cheese and pineapple on sticks.....

    Pringles/nuts/little savoury crackers......

What can I eat that is not toooooo bad?

I wanted to take my own (so don't have to worry about calories, full fat etc etc) but H says no, it's rude and I should just join in!

Keep away from the Pringles, cos once you pop ya can`t stop!

Might be a good idea to have a healthy snack before you go so your half full when you get there, then possibly let your hair down with a little bit of everything?

Thanks Hazzie...going there half full is a good idea....I have not mastered the art of trusting myself yet around a buffet:D

I am alright with the quiche as I do not like it but the rest yum yum;)

Salad (just a little cucumber, tomato and a little lettuce).... Yes help yourself

Little sausages done in the oven.... No, 1 would not hurt but could you stick at 1 .. No you couldn't don't tell porkies :p

Sliced Gammon or pork.... Yes, but take any visible fat off (leave it on the side of your plate, don't dump it on the buffet table... Good manners and all that!

    Quiche..... Good Grief NO!!!!

Chicken wings/chicken nuggets/chicken legs with a sauce on them (barbecue/honey and mustard) Another Good Grief NO!!!

Potato salad and coleslaw full fat ready made from the pots at Tesco... A dessert spoonful of the coleslaw, that's all as you can have....

Jacket potato wedges done in the oven..... ...but treat yourself to no more than 6

Cheese and pineapple on sticks..... Use the pineapple as a dessert, put cheese on H's plate

Pringles/nuts/little savoury crackers......You would be both nuts and crackers to put these temptations on your plate.

What can I eat that is not toooooo bad?

I wanted to take my own (so don't have to worry about calories, full fat etc etc) but H says no, it's rude and I should just join in!

That is just my opinion, but in view of the truck loads of common sense that your H has, I would be guided by him. Seems to me you have an icon of husbandly virtue there.

I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

I've been invited in here by Consultant31 (thank you) - so Hello Everyone

I'm a member of SW and am not too far off my target and I'm finding it very hard to lose that last 1/2 stone! Hopefully you guy's will keep me motivated inbetween weigh in's (tonight:eek: )

Not had too good a week though as a close relative died abroad, (so ate to compensate for that) and OH went into hospital for a small op (another eating compensation) and then it was his birthday yesterday, so went out for a carvery meal with all the family - inc wine! I didn't do a starter or sweet though. Today I've woken up with a stonker of a cold so that's making me NOT wanting to eat! My head (and tummy) doesn't know if it's coming or going - I'll let you know how I get on.
