Lose Weight 11

Hi, I've been reading your threads for the last few days but have never posted here and hope you don't mid me joining in.
I've a huge amount of blubber that needs to go - about 13 stone in total. My weekly target is 1% of body weight (= about 4lb) and I've been counting calories for the past fortnight. (6xSmall meals per day at 300 cals each)
On both weeks so far, I've exceeded my target loss so I'm on a bit of a "high" just now. I'm obviously pleased with it but realise that 15lbs over two weeks is not a sustainable rate of loss and so I'm sort of trying to prepare myself for the come-down that I will probably get at next Sunday's weigh in.
To think that I'll have to reach my target every week for nearly the next two years in order to get to my target weight gets me quite dispondent and any tips that anybody can offer about this would be really appreciated.0 -
Oh big congratulations on your loss to date, you must be so thrilled! :j
I'm starting tomorrow on low carb (to begin with) - I have about 10 stone to lose ideally. It was great to see you put it in such a sensible way - !% body weight per week. I can go with that!
Please PM me if you want to support each other, ok?

puddings - welcome and well done on such a good start. It's nice to have a good loss to start with as that puts you on a high and motivates you to carry on. You sound as though you have a very positive (and realistic) attitude to losing weight so I am sure you will do well.
Remember to measure yourself too - then on those weeks when you don't do as well as you had anticipated the tape measure may tell a different story. In my case the scales aren't showing much but the tape and my clothes are - I'm doing alot of excercise which sometimes slows down the weight loss.
You will find this board friendly and inspirational. Good luck on your weight loss journey and well done again on such a good start.Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -

I wonder if I can join please?
I have had, as they say on dfw, a lightbulb, moment. My weight gain as gone on for for years and I have buried my head in the sand and my body in bigger sizes.
About six months ago my scales died and I felt relieved as they were giving me reproving looks from the corner of the bathroom. I got a new pair at a car boot two weeks ago and have finally stepped on.
Oh dear.I need to join please

Good morning and a big welcome to Puddings, Xjl and Prudent -it's always nice to see new members.
Puddings you have done fantastically well to date and your attitude to it all sounds just right. Keep up the good work and chart a graph of your weight loss - it's good to see the overall trend is downwards even if you do have a bad week (or two).
Prudent don't worry too much what the scales say (in fact I usually advise people to dump them). They often aren't very accurate and when you've done really well and the scales show a 1lb gain, it's very tempting to think "Oh, I'm such a failure" and give up. If you use your clothes as a guide (it's great when your trousers get to feeling slack round the waist) you will know you're doing it right.
Frugal - well done. Of course you will, we know that
Sky - excellent result, well done.
Honey, thanks for doing the honours :TI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
:hello: Good morning everyone and hi to xjlmummy, Prudent, puddings (by the way puddings what a great start - well done) & all other new dieters. Well done to Frugal Fox - good luck to others who haven't been weighed yet. I have lost 1 pound this week. I would have liked to have lost more this week so I am aiming for at least 2 pounds next week. :rolleyes:0

Morning all, I have once again fallen of the wagon and gained another 1ld. I did go to the gym twice last week but its the old white wine I really need to cut out on. I will try by best this week or at this rate will end up larger than when I started.
