Morning All, This clock change has me all up the left - not that it takes much :D I've been up for hours, kids to school, been to gym and just finishing off the cleaning. Phew, am shattered already! Glad you all found the new thread, its nice to see some new folk already.

Puddings Dont look at the total amount which you have to lose as it will perhaps demotivate you. Break it up into smaller chunks and work towards each small goal - it wont be long mounting up. Well Done so far :T
I imagine I will have gained the weight I lost a fortnight ago - I've semi fallen off the wagon. When I say semi - I am ok up until about 4pm then I wobble in the direction of the biscuit tin and once I have dipped into it think, oh well, I've ruined today - might as well ruin the rest of it. I know that this is my weak time but I cant help nibbling! Going to tape up the biscuit jar from now on :rotfl:

Its a month until the first of my 3 weddings to go to this year. The dress fits nicely but I cant afford to put on any weight so day one it is then - again!!

I've booked in for a body analysis at the gym this week  They weigh, measure and work out my % body fat, then will do it again in approx 1month - 6 weeks, depending on how frequently I use the gym Yikes!!!!

Have we a current challenge? I have lost track of them and can't remember what we are on?

If its time for a new one can anyone suggest what we aim for next and by what date? Sunday sees the start of April so do we want to start one from then? It'll be a tough one though with all of those Easter Eggs:EasterBun

Just noticed the 'lose weight' threads.

Not really trying myslef at the moment, but as a helpful suggestion i would like to recommend a book called the ABS diet. (about £6 from amazon)

Found it an extremely helpful book, covering everything about the do's and don'ts of weight loss as well as recipes and exercise plans. Well worth the money

    good luck!!

    :hello: Morning All

Crumbs LW11 already, well done Honey for starting it :T . I noticed your post yesterday, but apart from not thinking that I knew how to start a new thread (I now realise that I do but I'm keeping that quiet) and doing the links, can you just imagine how embarrassingly OTT I would have gone had I succeeded  I'd be living with the fairies permanently :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm pleased to tell you all that at the end of week 11 I have lost 1.2 lbs :j

Frugal Fox, Freebie and Sky - Well done :T

TallGirl as this is two weeks running have this ae2edf49bf.gif next week it will be the boot.

Welcome to all you lovely newbies, I hope you enjoy it with us here on the LW thread (imitated but never bettered ;) )

Puddings I can't add much more than has already been said and said better than I could, but the time really flies if you set yourself mini-targets. When I first came here, 11 weeks seemed a long long time, but it has passed quickly, so just keep a positive frame of mind, you are in good company here.

Honey Yes we are still on the 5lb callenge by next week. Someone here last week said about not putting temptation in your way so could you try and buy biscuits that you don't like (if there are any)? Although I agree that late afternoon is the worst time for me too.

    xxxx
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

    Hi all

I`ve been lurking and watching for quite a while and today is day 1 in my new healthy living status. :j

I havent chosen a diet plan yet so I`m just playing it by ear until I get myself into the swing of things.
I went to Boots this morning and went on their scales and nearly had a heart attack. Not just by the weight I`ve put on but by how loud them scales are when they are telling you to stand up straight.Sooo glad it prints the weight off on a little slip rather than shouting it out so the whole store can hear.

I have tried to scoff all my goodies yesterday and to be honest really sickened myself with chocky, which is a good thing!

I know I`m gunna find this dieting lark hard as I make such scrummy fattening meals.Plus I`m a greedy cow.:D

I have got a smaller plate for myself and I`m going to try and get the portion sizes right first.

So this week I want to aim for 3lb weight loss.I know you usually lose the most in the first week but I wanna set myself a realistic goal, which I know should be achieved easierly(sp?)Then I`m hoping to lose 1-2lbs a week.

I will need loads of encouragement though,if I dont see those scales move in the right direction I`ll lose all willpower to carry on.

So everyone please feel free to stick that boot in good and hard!

    Wow, what a great thread.
I've noticed lately that my clothes are getting tighter, and going on a shopping trip yesterday was just depressing. :(
I think I eat healthily, and I've been going to the Gym once a week since before Christmas, but I just don't seem to be able to shift it, and if anything, I seem to be getting BIGGER!!

I've been on a lowish carb diet for two weeks now. Why won't it shift faster??!

    Any advice/support/recepies gratefully received!!

Ohhh - shiny new thread! Morning :)

I lost 2 lbs last week but didn't have time to post before shooting off to Scotland. Don't feel that I did too bad food wise while working up there but the scales will tell the truth tomorrow ^^

Oh but horror :o I live in jeans, shirt / t-shirt and fleeces and so very rarely dress up. Got into my suit without problem and took to wear with it a nice roomy blouse. Pranced in front of the bedroom mirror in the hotel and thought 'you'll do' (the lights in hotels are generous in their dimness!) but then took off the jacket to sit down and straighten my hair. Unfortunately
(fortunately?) I glanced sideways and caught a glimpse of myself sat down *sob*. Needless to say the jacket didn't come off any of the three days I was on the exhibition stand.

The final straw was on Satuday when I decided to wear my favourite black trousers (not worn for a least 4 months) and they were tight, very, very tight :(

A kick up the rump if ever I needed one !

I tried that. Took Kitkats only to Scotland and no other biscuits. I did end up having one but only one as I really don't like the chocolate on them.

    Welcome to all newbies

I've two choices now. Either get stuck in with clearing the back log at work or play catch up on the old thread. Hmmm.... catch up it is :D

Ooh more newbies - welcome danm, hazzie and sa1sy. There are almost as many different plans as members on this thread, so go with whichever one suits you best.

Hazzie, I think it's probably fair to say we're all 'greedy cows' (with the exception of Suggs, who's a bull :D ) or we wouldn't be overweight to start with. Follow the links from Post 1 and you'll find it is possible to still make lovely, filling meals and still lose weight - though you wouldn't think so if you watch the TV chefs with their ½ pint of cream and 1lb butter in everything

I used to only buy Garibaldi biscuits when my children were at home and I was slimming, cos I can't stand them - it took me ages to find out nobody else could either and they were giving them to the dog :rotfl:
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Yup, I'm definitely a greedy cow. I could eat for England. And I still do, just these days I eat enough fruit for a small football team. Today's special is a big box of strawberries (half price) mmmmm

I'm being naughty after fatfighters tonight and having a chinese takeaway...at least I'll have a week to work off the zillion syns :rotfl:

  • Hello all

Woohoo, a thread that combines my two passions in life: MSE and trying to lose weight!!

It would be great if I could join you all - my wedding is this December followed by a fab 2 week cruise in the Caribbean over Christmas and New Year and I WILL LOOK LOVELY AND SLIM IN THE PHOTOS!

Have just come back from a week skiing in Spain and all that hot chocolate and fondue only made me fatter! but a kick up the bum none the less. So… 37 weeks ‘til the wedding and I’m aiming to lose about 2 stone so that’s 28 lbs and anything else is a bonus. I’ll be nipping over to Lois' two lb a week club in a min so I'm hoping I should be able to shift my excess in about 14 weeks. Of course, I'll prob lose more at first and then plato so that's a happy medium.

Have lost loads of weight in the past with WW but of course, it always goes back on (and more!) but this time I am going to do it with the help of my MSE buddies :T

Right, off to the gym later me thinks....
