Hi, I'm up for the new challenge, but was far from completing the last one, so should i combine the targets, ie my personal target would be 7.5lb by 7th may (feb's leftover's added on to april challenge) or shall i just start again and see how close i get this time???? any advice?

anyhoo, i'm definately up for a challenge, and a challenge it will be as i have coursework, a wedding with lots of food and booze, and revision...and when i'm working and stressed i always reach for sweets/choc....i wish i was one of those people who gets stressed and just 'cant eat'!!

hope everyone's ok. i'm off to watch ER and drool over Dr. Kovac!!

If you dont mind being bored to death, I'll give you a short history.

Always had a problem with my weight, but keep it more or less under control, but now finding it harder than ever, normally a 16/18. When I was 25 I had a spell under the dietician, to lose weight I had to go down to 800 calories, and at that I played Squash (badly) once a week, and also swam. Now 30 years and a child later, 18/20 hate to think what calories I need to get down to as there is s*d all to play with at 800.
I did the SW diet on my own about 10 years ago and had some success for a while.
Two years ago I tried Atkins, and did very well on it, but eventually, let it slip, but now I have tried to go back on it, cannot seem to get anywhere.
The thing is I do not over eat, binge eat, etc., I have black coffee all day at work, only ever "diet" drinks, or flavoured or normal water. Just about dropped bread, and can leave potatoes alone, chips are a rare treat, and then only a few. Don't like pasta/race much, so can give them up without trying. Do have a sweet tooth, but can control it, I can even have a bar of chocolate and ration the pieces night by night. As for exercise, well that is limited to walking, usually around work, town etcetera, some days more than others, but certainly dont want to do gym work which builds up muscles, my arms/back are broad enough as they are, nor does full time working give me much time.

    Any ideas?

Lose 5lbs by 7 May 2007 - starts from next week - the current challenge ends then - dont worry about rolling the lbs over into the next period if you haven't met the current challenge (like me :o)

I cant get my head around House... i think I've watched too much Blackadder/Jeeves and Wooster to ever find him sexy, no matter how hard the americans try to sex him up!!

donny-gal welcome to the board...I cant really offer much advice I'm afraid...I'm no expert, but there are lots of much more helpful ladies on here (and a lovely fella too!) who might have some good ideas. in the meantime perhaps you could list your average day, what you do and what you eat, so we can see where you're going right/wrong?
Hope you enjoy the forum, everyone is very helpful and kind.

Good idea, i wasnt really looking forward to a bigger target having not met the first one! :( I am really going to put my mind to it this time tho.

Thing is...I'm quite good when i've gone out and done some exercise..i'm all proud and dont want to ruin it...I just have to try not to stuff my face on days that i'm stuck in the house feeling low. I think i should get some grapes and baby plum tomatoes...they r the only things i can eat like sweets that arent actually sweets!!!! (also i have a popcorn maker...so plain popcorn might have to keep me going when i get the essay/revision munchies!!)

Played squash for 50 mins today (OH only just beat me!) and had a lovely low fat turkey/veg curry with minimal extras, and half a small glass of beer rather than a whole can to myself. Baby steps.... :o
