 erm, you've lost 4 stone in 4 weeks...did you have your leg amputated then?

:T Victory and NPSmama - you've both done really good this week. Well done!

XJLmummy i hope things are going good today and Stompydebs... ive got my fingers crossed for you.

Hi Erlqueen - I find it better to go shopping daily for the food needed for that day: if I've a weeks supply of food in the house then I'll be temptd to eat a weeks supply of food! In Tesco I have breakfast in the cafe before I shop (tomatos on dry toast) and always shop without a basket - cos baskets are designed to help you buy more stuff!

bargainbabe - re the caterpillar, I also found one of those on some lettuce last summer and now I'm paranoid about washing lettuce loads and loads. Who knows, maybe that caterpilar was the one that turned into the honey's moth! ;) (on reflection maybe we both turned down a nutricious snack - the bushtucker guide to dieting says 1 average sized caterpilar contains only 15 calories and 5g of protein  )

Stokegal - yes you've gone up quite a lot over the last few years and if you want to lose it, then it will be a long hard slog. I've no opinion really on whether diet pills are right or wrong - the only person that can make that decision is you - but exceeding the maximum recommended dose of tablets is def wrong. I'm looking for a diet buddy - support each other one to one/ shoulder to cry on/ kick up the a*s when needed etc - if you're interested please pm me - I think we could help each other.

Hi everyone.... not good news this morning for my first weigh in. I've been in bed for a couple of days with the dreaded lurgy and have been living on ice cream for the throat and everything else you can think of for comfort. Net result had to be a gain didn't it??

Some of you will remember I had a query on my new scales. On memory button 1 it showed 14.8 and without using the memory button 14.12. I wondered if I had misread the first reading.

This morning on memory 1 it showed +5!!!! (14.13) but without the memory button it showed 14.13 which is a gain of 1lb. OK I'll take the 1lb on the chin (or chins) but there really must have been something going on with the scales last week.

Not a good start for me then.......... but it would be no good to run away from you all at this point. I'm up and about now and all the icecream has gone. This is a new start.

So........... have a good week every one, I plan to.

    Hi 61ed5ea48f.gifNot many folks about....

Lois .... Many thanks for the chart again, and thanks to Honey for keeping it going next week, it seems quite a job. Please put me down for the next challenge, I believe that it really helped me this month. I agree that 5lb suits me but I suggest we set it at 15lbs for Victory :rotfl:

Beanilou and npsmama Well done with those fabulous losses. Isn't it nice beani, to reach that first 1st a real boost.

loopy-loo and stilernin Don't dwell on this weeks gains, you can't alter them, just think about next weeks losses.

jojilufc Don't worry about your body going into starvation mode, it's only if you do that sort of thing over a sustained period that it kicks in (or so I believe) A few hours certainly won't hurt, by the way I hope your DS is on the mend now:kisses3:

Edimew what a good idea about putting 50p away whenever you decline free food :T

thriftykatie Well done on coping with all that stress (DDs really test us don't they?) without succumbing to the call of the chocolate.

I'm feeling very positive still especially after yesterday, when reading some of the posts here and accompanying my mother to the Doctors where I saw some very sad sights, I thought that if all I've got to worry about is losing a few pounds of weight, then I'm pretty damned lucky.

    xxxx
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Oh my - not having a good day today - have got the dreaded lurgy. Throat feels like it is on fire and like I have something stuck there. Keep sucking the strepsils (are there any calories in throat sweets?).

Trying to resist the temptation to eat ice cream to make it feel better. Hoping to be better before my chaotic weekend

Any ideas how to shift the lurgy on any quicker? I have some vit C tablets which I have taken as this is supposed to help.

Vitamin c with zinc is meant to be good, I have enchinea in my cupboard and as soon as I feel like I am coming down with something I take them for a couple of days. Seems to work but could be a coincident

well done thriftykatie. Your daughter had better bring you more than a straw donkey home for that one! Amazing result fro nps mama and edimew that is a brilliant tip. I'm absolutely furious today - the gas board are digging up our street and laying new pipes. 2 weeks ago we got a grubby letter through the letterbox telling us that they would need to cut off our gas and mght need to come inside to to restart it on wed 21st. Wed 21st came and went, yesterday as we were going to work a gas man sauntered by and said 'gas is going off today mate'. I got home last night, no gas. So no hot water, no heating and no cooking. So i rang the out of hours number and as told i'd be called back but it might be 2100 before they came round. I rang again at 2000 and again at 2045 to be told 'we're just an out of hours service, if they don't call theres nothing we can do'. So this morning - unable to wash up or have a bath - i go out to see the contractors. Their response? 'We told your husband love. The fitters will be here today, whats your problem?' I'm still fuming. Especially as I'm not married!! Oddly enough there is no answer on their office number. why am i not surprised!?!?!?
