Can't see how (at the moment) they would be classed as a couple based on info given. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

It makes it very confusing when people refer to a boyfriend as a "partner".0 -

If that is the case how come some people are investigated for having "partners" staying over? If its that clear cut surely there's no point in investigating them? Just curious, as in other threads people in a similar poisition to the OP (don't live together but consider themselves partners/do stuff as partners) are usually jumped on and told they are living as a couple.
Well, in my experience here on MSE people who ask about benefits are often 'jumped on' no matter what.:)
I can only tell you what the DWP say in their manual - Chapter 11 - Living together as husband and wife or as civil partners - http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/dmgch11.pdf - see 11015 onwards0 -

It does - especially when kids call him dad
Still have a feeling this is a wind up - Can't figure out why somone on leave would stay at his mothers when he has 2 children who call him father and they have so much distance.0 -

That would be apart from the council house, income support, housing benefit, council tax benefit, DLA, child benefit and child tax credits.
Thanks for your posts they are a great example of why breeders benefits should be abolished.0 -
This has got to be a wind up?? Children are toddlers and not his plus both have different Dad's yet call new boyfriend who has obviously only been on the scene 5 minutes Dad, yet he's never there cause away with the Army or at his Mothers and never even had a holiday together??? So basically the OP wants to Marry someone she barely knows??
Only saving grace is she can't have anymore kids with "Father Unknown" on the birth certificate!!!0 -

Feel free to continue in text speak, but some posters will give up reading - I find it very difficult to understand and really struggled with the above post.0 -
