another update (bit late but still) 22 july

another letter from the FOS saying that if we sign and return citi will pay the full amount we were asking for , so of course that was returned asap and we await the cheque.

    Hang in there all
citi have been the hardest work and slowest and the only one that didnt pay before us having to go to the FOS but at last after starting way back in oct last year we've got there.

I have been persuing Citi Card since July 07, I heard back from them pretty quickly but the offer they made me was for the usual 12.00 for every charge, although the amounts were left blank. I called them and advised that the amount was blank and that until they send me a completed letter I cant consider the offer, this was about 6 months ago, plus the debt has now been sold to Cabot financial. I origianlly asked for 1064.62 this included 189.00 interest. The total debt with Cabot is 1543.00. Out of the blue today I received a letter from Citi offering me 1,196.22!!!!!!!!!! which is over 100.00 more than I originally asked for. To say I was amazed is an understatement, I then called Cabot and offered them 1,196.00 to pay off the debt in full and final settlement and they accepted, after a lot of persuading I might add, but so what! debt now cleared !I am thrilled, I have called Citi and advised that this amount will be acceptable to Cabot to pay off the debt and the lady I spoke to was really helpful, she is going to call me when she receives the acceptance from me and call me when the cheque has been sent to Cabot.

    What a result!!!!!

    Don't give up

    Thanks Martin:money: .:T

I sent a letter to Citicard a month ago re: Credit charges - not heard anything so called them today. transferred from team to team and told they cant trace anything from me. Going to resend by recorded delivery, just wondered if anyone has had dealings with them good or bad and did you get a result ??
    Thanks

    Hi Steve

I started my claim against citi card over a year ago, i got the usual response, offering me the difference between 20.00 and 12.00. They did however leave the amounts blank so had to work it out for myself. I called them and said i wouldnt accept and i will go to the FSO. this was about6 months ago. I didnt actually register a complaint but about 2 weeks ago i got a letter from them offering me 1,196.00 which is approx 100.00 more than I asked for in the 1st place!! what a result, just keep at them and hopefully you'll have success with them too.

    Hope this helps.;)

I wrote a SAR back in May and have had no reply.

    The address I used was:

    CitiCards
    CitiFinancial Europe plc
    1 Exchange Quay
    Salford
    Manchester
    M5 3EA

Was this the correct address and if so what do I do next?

    Hi

I made a claim for charges from Citi Card after their initial rejection I went to the FOS, I subsequently received an offer of £409 the difference between £12 and the charges that they raised.

My claim was for £1150 incl interest. How likely are Citi to increase their offer if I reject this.

    Any ideas?

After receiving statements from Citi-cards, i send them a letter (Martins template) requesting a full refund of £1250 plus interest
I had a reply from Citi Card today, basically telling me to go away. They make reference to 12 cases they have won in court and have said I can go the The Finance and Lending Association (Compliance Manner) or the Ombudsman if I am not happy with their response.
Very clear from the letter than this isnt going to be easy !! No offer or suggestion of an offer and the letter reads in a way that they have closed their file
Not sure where to go next - The Ombusman or Court ??
    Any advice greatly appreciated
    Thanks

    hi

this is an unusual response to a credit card claim. what 12 cases do they mention and at what level?
