Hello there everyone!
Has anyone had a success story with Citi Cards?
I was young, foolish and carefree(less) when I got this card, I wasn't in constant employment and was travelling. I spent around £400 odds on it and still owe just under the £400. Not including the charges below, I have paid back just under £2000. I know! I have been very stupid and very 'had'! I am, to say the least, determined to get these charges back and would be most grateful for advice.
I sent off my request for list of all charges in early March which I received. I am now sending the letter requesting charges of £998 with interest of £272.23 - Total £1270.23
I have not seen any Citi Card success stories and have a feeling that they are going to be difficult. Has anyone had success with this company or know of anyone who has? It would be a great help if I knew what to expect from them.0 -
I am trying to get the charges back for my husband's Citi card. I am at the stage of sending the first letter. I'm hoping to do that this weekend.

Hang on in there folks, there is hope!!!
I started the process of reclaiming with Citi last April. After them sending various 'we're looking into it' letters, months apart, I finally contacted the FOS in November. I received a reply in December stating that Citi would refund (plus interest)and accepted this straight away. I then got a letter from the FOS saying that it could take up to 6 weeks for the money.
I have constantly badgered Citi via phone since early Feb to get my money. After finally loosing my temper on the phone with them and telling them that I was taking my case back to the FOS (which I did). I received a cheque this week for the full amount claimed. Pit that I didn't get any extra interest since I put my claim in in Nov but hey ho!!
So it is possible to get a refund out of Citi without going to court, but you have to work damn hard for it!!!
Remember to take a note of when you called, who you spoke to and what they said. I'm pretty sure that had I not done this and been able to quote names and responses that I'd still be battling with them!0 -
just an update on how its going with citicards ,
we received a letter from the FOS which says that the card provider argues ....blah blah ......
However it goes on to say that ''......so it chosen not to make and offer that fully meets the amount claimed''
I take it this means they have made an offer of some type ,
anyone know for sure ? ,
so the FOS has written back to citi "to invite them to make a revised offer which meets the claim in full
or
provide us with the information that we need to reach a conclusion on the merits of the claim"Member of change Pip's name back to PIP club

another update ,
citi have now sent a letter dated 1st may,
It looks like the standard letter thanking us for writing to them about the charges,
and basically telling us what they already said back in november, but now saying that we could contact the Compliance manager at the Finance & Leasing Assocation as well as the FOS.
Should I let the FOS know that they have sent this letter , as its new comunication from them ?Member of change Pip's name back to PIP club

Hi,
I just thought I write about citi bank success. After them trying delaying tactics by taking weeks to reply to one letter I decided to go via the moneyclaim. They acknowledge claim and then had 4w weeks to reply to the court. It has taken less than a 2 weeks from filling in the moneyclaim online and yesterday Citi bank sols wrote offering all the charges back. SUCCESS!!!!
I'm going to try and get back the PPI now. Again citi bank have denied it being mis-sold. I have asked for evidence which they have not rplied to yet?
Anyone know if I can go via moneyclaim and if so what are the particulars of claim?
Thanks0 -
Hi,
Just thought I would let anyone thinking of giving in to the bullies at Citi, DONT!! Just had a letter from FOS who took the case for me as I couldnt afford to take them to court. Citi have decided that despite the fact that they are right and the FSA are wrong, they will repay all my charges plus intrest £1023. In my last correspondence to them which they refused to answer or discuss with me I said I would accept £470 the total less the £12 fee laid down by the FSA as being a fairer charge, but their arrogance has cost them!!!!:j
DONT GIVE IN TO BULLIES!!!!!!!0 -
Seems Citi are finally changing tactic, are these claims/refunds coming straight from Citi or via Eversheds?
PPI - yes you can use MCOL but there is limited space to get in any detail so I would always recommend you use a N1, whcih you can download and fill in online on HMCS website.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0
