Right down the bottom it lists all the different sizes and prices, like links to seperate products (they'll all the same one just different sizes). I can't view the size list on here (work filter blocks it for some reason) but from the product photos I assume they say size 4 for a Collie, so £22. Not the cheapest but they're popular on dog forums. You could look for a secondhand one - try some Ebay, dog forums or even the agilitynet fleamarket

I liked the FB group - it seems like some smaller dogs are wearing a size 6 along with german shepherds etc - Im confused, plus callie does resemble some sort of fat box log :rotfl:0 -
Border Collies are highly strung dogs. They are working dogs that need a lot of exercise, not 10 minutes round the block on a lead. If your mum can't give the dog proper exercise you should try to rehome the dog with someone who can. My dog gets 2-3 hours a day off the lead swimming, running and playing. The dog is NEVER going to get better without proper exercise and stimulation.0

But it can't be let off lead now after showing it's unstable - before it would get taken to the park where it's ball was thrown for ages. But can't do that with it wearing a muzzle as she can't pick up the ball.
Not being funny but 3hrs of exercise would kill the dog, it's seriously unfit and fat.0 -
Lets face facts here -
1 - The dog has fetched a leg = Police report (who would want the dog??)
2 - It goes to the pound - It will be put down because of point 1 and other issues.
3 - Hates men
4 - Seems to hate a lot of other dogs
5 - Pulls like a maniac on the lead
6 - Pizzes all over the floor when people come in the house.
7 - Licks itself bald.
Now - Who in their right mind would take a dog like that on? Especially in this day & age - the dog gets more exercise than 10minutes, my mum just took it out for 10minutes when my sister was responsible for it - she has asked me to get her a halti lead so she can walk it properly and not be pulled over - she may not like animals but she isn't cruel to them, she took it out for 3 x 20 walks yesterday - plus it was chasing it's ball with my younger sister throwing it in the garden throughout the day.
Decent lead = Better walks for the dog. Also you throw its ball a couple of times and when she brings it back she lies on it so you can't throw it as she's crackered, she needs puppy exercise really with her immense girth.
I think my mum is doing a good thing and keeping the dog - it would be destroyed otherwise and for all its faults it's a soppy licky cuddly dopey thing. My 8 year old sister and it sleep together lying half on each other, it's happiest when it's got people around it - wants to be sat on your lap (which is no mean feat I tell you)0 -

Have you read this thread properly?
I'm assuming not or you surely wouldn't have posted what you did0 -

Well for what it's worth, Buttonmoons I'm really glad for the dog that she's got your mum and you now. I'm sure with time and patience she'll be a lovely girl to have around0 -
With dogs, often quality is better than quantity. Training and games around the house can be just as stimulating as a 3 hour walk without the physical strain on an overweight, unfit dog. Even simply things like feeding the dog every meal in an interactive toy rather than a bowl

Teaching the dog to do jobs around the house - putting its toys away in a toy basket, closing cupboard doors, fetching washing out of the tumbledrier etc. can really work out the mind, which is what a dog like a Collie needs more than just being knackered out physically. Would your mum be interested in anything like that?0 -
Buttonmoons, you and your mum are awesome
Glad Callie is improving and I really, REALLY hope karma bites your sister where it hurts.

ME!
When Tyson gets older this is the sort of dog I will be looking for to keep him company. I don't mean I will be looking for a dog with these specific issues, but I will be looking for a rescue dog and whatever issues it comes with shall be dealt with.
I'm sure if you decided to re-home the dog there would be people out there willing to take her on, problems and all.
It does sound like she will get on fine with your mum though0 -
omg. you can take a dog for more than one walk a day, i'm not suggesting a 3 hour walk. the dog needs stimulation. if you are worried about the dog biting, USE A MUZZLE. and why not do your own research about border collies as a breed?0
