Well I have just got the dog an appointment for tomorrow, unethical as it is I've just said it's mine, so I will have to take the day off college to take it to the vets. My mum said she thinks it had a epeleptic fit last night - so who knows if that is the cause of its problems *sigh*

For what it's worth, you shouldn't be getting dumped with the problems. It's not fair.

Sad fact is though, that sometimes in life people need to step up to the plate to help another, no matter how unfair it seems and this is very much what you are doing now. I think you deserve recognition and respect for doing what you can. It's good the poor dog at least has someone in it's corner.

  • No reflection on you OP, you have done your very best,

    BUT

My goodness I hate 'people' sometimes!

If you want a dog you should have to sit an exam!

Apparently in Switzerland you have to do both a theory and a practical test before you can own a dog - someone on another forum I use lives there and says it works fantastically. Though apparently the Swiss tend to be much more law obiding in general, making it an easier system to police..

Well in that case if the Swiss invade, I'm not putting up a fight!

Seriously, well done buttons for trying to sort the poor dog out. I hope there's a solution to this. It seems to be leading a very miserable little life.:(

They do have BSL though, which vary from canton (region) to canton, e.g. stuff like certain breeds needing to be muzzled and on-lead, extra training obligations, permission needed to own them, even temperament tests in some places (with not-so-nice consequences if the dog fails - and bear in mind they assess stuff like dog reactivity) etc., so not quite my ideal set of dog laws. Zürich is meant to be the strictest of cantons apparently.
Also, stuff like nuisance barking can be a really big issue because of cantonal laws regarding neighbours' rights and how strictly noise and official "quiet times" are regulated.

Back home (Poland) all dogs have to be on a lead and muzzled in cities...

I made her cry, told her I was gonna report her to the SSPCA and she'd be charged and have to maybe go to jail (bear in mind she's a bit simple) so now she feels really bad - hopefully that will do the trick (god im mean....)

I guess your sister lives with your mum, so what is her involvement in the dogs care? Can she/does she take any of the responsibility?
Also is that other friend still prepared to take the dog in, I know you say it doesn't like men but he has walked with you and anything to get it away from your sister quickly,
A big hug for you for trying to care x
Treat other's how you like to be treated.
