Bob your comment reminds me of the Westjet April Fools ad they did this year about Kiddy Kargo.

Photome I was flying on my own from the age of 13. I don't mind kids on planes I just object to the ones whose parents let them run wild. When we first flew at 11 & kid brother was 7 we wouldn't have dreamed of running around screaming, kicking chairs, throwing things just generally being little so& so's because my mum would have murdered us on the spot.

I went to Canada in April on my flight out a family got on with 3 kids. Kids sat in a row in front of m&d as flight was empty. Everyone on the plane had the "oh God here we go" look on there faces but the kids were great! The parents fell asleep but the kids still acted perfectly. On my return flight there was a group of kids causing mayhem before they even got on the flight! The parents had just lost all control & really didn't seem bothered in regaining any. I know which ones I would want banning lol

  • I would happily pay a premium for a child free flight - I don't see why they can't apply a 'no kids' rule to business class... after all, they sell it as a place to work which is impossible with the kind of noise levels even one bored child can generate.

you can pay first class when you fly instead of economy and sit there like your in a mortury with non smiling faces apart from the odd fart in between snoring with an eye patch from someone slurping champs,

have you ever told a fully grown moron in front of you to put his or hers leaning seat forward because you cannot move , they seem to have this idea im on holiday ,stuff you , at least a slap on the legs or a stare with a child usally works , children DO NOT act like morons unless there parents are too
the grown ups are the worse , they run and cram to be first at the gate to get on the aircraft first, pushing and shoving even though they have a seat number boarding pass , i suspect children arent this dumb or annoying

Can we not ban fat people too. When I pay for a seat I want that seat to myself, not to share it with some obese character whose rolls of flab are encroaching my space !

I supoose it could be worse...An obese kid !!

bankhater it was a joke of course I wouldn't really shout at an adult on a flight i'm English and English people just don't do that lol.

If there I'd try and make myself comfy if that wasn't possible I would ask them if they wouldn't mind moving. After that then I'd just make do.

I don't know those two 10 year old girls who put in that fake 999 call certainly were acting like morons to me :)

Excel - your post reminded me of something:
Fast forward to the plane ride coming home, I have my RS ready to read and desperately little charge left on my iPod to listen to the Keys. Group B again, most guys let their wives walk in front of them when getting on a plane. I sit in the same spot. I'm on the aisle, stewardess comes on and says it's a full flight. I start hoping the fat guy walking down the aisle doesn't sit with us. He and his 4 other friends sit in the row in front of us. He must go 275, sits in the seat directly ahead of me and when he sits back I can basically massage his head with my hands in my lap.

The last 2 people on the plane are a skinny white girl dressed for Vegas with a pork pie hat (best song to have pork pie hat in the lyrics is Rudy Can't Fail on London Calling, top 3 album of all obese_man-plane.jpgtime) and her black boy friend. The stewardess says to the guy, your seat is in the back row and asks the girl to sit directly in front of Shelly, next to Mr. 275. Mr 275 has a friend who keeps making farting noises, it started when we were boarding and lasted through exiting the plane, I'm not making this !!!! up. So, the girl starts making sad faces at everyone in the rear of the plane because she just can't make it for an hour without siting next to her boyfriend, prompting the stewardess to say "Honey, you have the rest of your life to be next to him, I think you can make it an hour" classic, Southwest stuff.

    These stories are horrifying me.
I'm about to take my 2 children (oh and DH) on a flight for the first time (and it's a 10 hour one too).
My DD is 10 and DS is 7 so we've deliberately waited until they are older.

Both are well behaved but not angels but I'm now more worried about other peoples behaviour
    Kate short for Bob.

My husband sat next to a woman from Gatwick to Florida and she sat there burping and farting the whole flight.
