Should children be banned from Aircraft?

That's why kids shouldn't be on flights - cos they're scared or in pain or feeling sick and no one is helping. ban kids for the kids' sake - not for the sake of other passengers.Never had a problem with kids on flights to be honest although in fairness I don't usually travel in school hols. On one flight from Singapore a baby screamed all the way home then promptly fell asleep when we landed. Nothing we could do about it and nobody was about to get shirty as the child was obviously in distress.0 -
Obviously plenty folk here without kids, it's very hard to keep a young child entertained when in a small seat, maybe a small play area at the back would be the best option, keeps kids away from the grumps0

Why not hand out free sedatives to the little !!!!!!s sleep the whole way there?0

The $64.000 question is whether there is enough of a market/profit in doing adult only planes.
I suspect not so it won't happen.
The LCY - JFK route is often child free, and as there are plenty of alternatives I imagine this would work quite well.
Having said that, I see no issue with children on flights - I have encountered far more disruptive adults.0 -

some nations havent grasped basic hygiene! I know what I would rather have on a flight.
I assume all those advocating a ban never flew before they were 180 -

Those who have experienced that route will know what I mean.
Oh dear lord yes, I know what you mean. But its not just the clientele that is awful on that route. I suspect that Virgin uses that route as somewhere to send old planes to die....
The last time I flew that route (2010) there were no available seats in Upper. I won't pay for Premium Economy on principle - it's only about 2cm extra legroom if that - so I ended up in economy, two rows behind my OH next to the most chatty man in the world. On an overnight flight. The seats were falling apart, most of the seatback TV's were broken, or the remote for them was broken/missing. The plane was alternatively freezing cold or boiling hot. I have never been so glad to get off a plane!
I will not fly that route again.
And children? Well, I'm not a fan of having my seat back kicked, but crying babies don't really bother me. Its the parents that drive me nuts - ban them!!You had me at your proper use of "you're".0 -
I would happily pay a premium for a child free flight - I don't see why they can't apply a 'no kids' rule to business class... after all, they sell it as a place to work which is impossible with the kind of noise levels even one bored child can generate.:hello:0

That's rather a generalisation based on one example. I had the misfortune to endure a flight home from Cyprus next to a middle aged woman terrified of flying, very drunk (looked at one point that she wouldn't be allowed to board, sadly she was) and kept screeching at her husband sat across the aisle from her. I'm a nervous flyer so really didn't need that, but I've never had a kid annoy me as much as she did.
More kids I know are excited rather than scared of flying. Mine laugh at me when I'm doing a death grip on the seat rests!0 -

I don't even want to think of hygiene. I try to drink very little on some flights so I can avoid using the toilet, the state of some of them are truly vile.
Someone actually tried to climb over me the other day to get off before me when we landed as I had the aisle seat (no one else was yet out of their seats so it's not like I was being slow and annoying to get up). I was so annoyed I did swear at him as I'd already suffered 3 hours of vile noises, snorting, eating, nose picking and god knows what else. The steward had also got peed off with him when he pretended to not understand how to put his seat up for landing and he'd also leaned over me to grab drinks off the trolley before the stewardess had got to out row. This type of behaviour seemed common amongst my fellow travellers too.0 -
