I received a letter from Lloyds that they are closing down my account. I did a bit of googling and it seems that the decision is made and you can't really do anything about it, they might suspect that there is something dodgy going on. I will give them a call and explain that the high volume of money coming in and out is because I received insurance money and paid off loan but I guess if they don't accept it than I just have to deal with my loss. Which is a shame as I collect airmiles with their credit cards and it always gives me a free flight a year. This is not something I want to deal with while 7 months pregnant but I have no choice really.
We ordered the headstone for my OH, his family want to put a picture on it so I need to go through my pictures to choose the best. I am also going on maternity leave from 1st October from one job and carry on with other one till 38 week, the hours will be the same but lots of the responsibilities will be gone so I will welcome the easing off I guess.0 -
Morning Kavics. That's so strange about Lloyds, I've never heard of that before. I'm sure if you explain they'll be fine - but you'd think they'd call you and ask rather than close your account.
Hope you're doing OK - will be lovely to finish up one of your jobsWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
That's really odd about Lloyds, I would think it's not that uncommon to get a large one off payment, for example when people sell their house.

Oh, it's Sunday again. I can't believe the weekend is nearly over
.
I went into Lloyds last week, they are closing down my account, there is nothing I can do about it. I have another account with them which will remain open so I now have to make the decision whether to stick with them and move all direct debits to that account or find another one. The good thing about Lloyds is that I have branches nearby, but on the other hand why would I stay with them if they close my account down.
Sainsburys took one more loan payment, I need to give them a call to see whether the loan is now paid off or not. There is always something to do:(.
I think I am nearly ready for baby, a couple of small things I still need but slowly, slowly getting there. I need to wash all her clothes and beddings in the next couple of weeks. I had a midwife app last week and having a scan next Friday, can't wait to see her again.
This week was highly emotional, I really miss him. I just wanted a hug from him, and tell me everything was going to be ok. It didn't help that the midwife was lovely and that my neighbours got the bad news that they were expecting a baby girl with Down's. We all ended up in tears. It's been 4 months
. I got a voucher from groupon for a photobook, I am going to do it for my little girl so she will have a special book about daddy.
Still no news about the life insurance, I emailed them last week and they were still waiting for the gp to get back to them.0 -
I personally would close the Lloyds account down - why should you stay with them when they mess you about like that, especially in your current situation? If you're having to make your own arrangements for the direct debits anyway then definitely make them somewhere else.
I'm sorry to hear you're finding things tough today, but 4 months is nothing at all, you're bound to still be very raw. Go easy on yourself and take care of yourself xxWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I think I'd be tempted to get rid of Lloyds as well. That's ridiculous that they are just closing the account.
Sorry to hear that you are having a hard week, it is still very early days though. The photobook sounds like a lovely idea for your little girl.
Hope you manage to get Sainsbury's sorted out soon as well."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I still haven't decided about Lloyds, I guess I need to do it pretty quickly as they are closing the account in November.
Sainsburys sorted, they refunded me the last payment and should receive a letter next week that I paid off the loan.
I just paid for my OH's gravestone, so glad that it's sorted. It was quite expensive but money in this case was not an issue. It's been a very emotional week, mainly because I was getting worked up for my scan and really really wished he could be there. The scan was amazing, my little girl was so active and everything is just fine with her. She is on the 18th percentile but gaining weight steadily.
I got a lot of things from my ex boss, I have officially everything ready for her. I can't wait to meet her, only 7 more week left (5 more of work, eeeek). I have been very tired this week, the commuting is really hard but I guess staying active will help me with labour.
I have lots to ebay this weekend though I am busy today and will be out of the house most of the time.0 -
Glad the scan went well and you managed to get Sainsburys sorted.
Not long to go now til you meet your little girl!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I am mega emotional today, the headstone is ready and my OH's niece sent me a picture of it last night. It's nice as much as a headstone can be but it seems so final
. I am full of questions and doubhts, I can't stop crying but at the same time trying to stay calm for our little girl. 34 weeks already, she will be here in no time, I can't wait to meet and cuddle her.
I have no idea how I am doing money wise, I keep putting everything off though I know I need to deal with these things. I need to make a budget as now my salary is less and from next month it's only the SMP. I am still at work, find it very tough and tiring but I know staying at home will not do anything good to me.
Couple of ebay items are finishing today, I have another couple to put on.0 -
I have been away - work is a pain atm. I am so glad you are still posting. Sorry it is so hard.
oh she will be here soon.
give yourself time Kav, you will make a budget when you have to and are able to.
I wish I could do more then post on the forum
Take care and know I am thinking of you xxxNevertheless she persisted.0
