Today has been very very emotional, I still haven't recovered.

I logged in to my online banking and there was a lot of money waiting for me, from OH's company. His boss called me later on today to let me know that they paid me his Death in Service benefit as I am the beneficiary and he hopes that this would help me raising Little Madam. The amount, for me, is really big, it's 2 years of his salary, I honestly thought it was 2 months not 2 years. It's certainly not a huge amount itself but took the pressure off instantly. I am forever grateful but at the same time wish from the bottom of my heart that he was still alive and we would be in debt.

So I made £10000 overpayment towards Sainsburys and will do another one tomorrow, asking for settlement figure at one point next week. I also asked a friend to call Poland and offered to pay for his headstone, they will get back to me next weekend with a qoute. Though whatever it will be, it will be, I need to do this for him.

Well, what is left will help me to go through maternity leave without worrying. I certainly won't splash out on anything as I still have lawyers, DNA test, flight tickets for the court case to pay for. I can't write anything more, I feel overwhelmed, shaken and very very emotional. Miss him more than anything and feel blessed for knowing him.

Big hugs to you Kavics, that must be very emotional for you. Your OH has seen that you and little girl will be ok.

From everything you've written about him, he seems like a wonderful man.

Thank you. I have had a bad night, was up at 2 and couldn't manage to go back to sleep. Just kept thinking and thinking.

I have no plans for the weekend, I'm getting my anti D injection this afternoon and also seeing another doula. I will need to look into saving accounts and move the money from my current account, it's been ages I ever owned a proper saving account. I might do pregnancy yoga tomorrow, I just need to see whether there is availability.

I will make £3000 payment towards Sainsburys, that should bring the balance down to hundreds so the final interest shouldn't be too much next week.
I got a Mamas&Papas £5 off voucher through the post and they have their cellular blanket half price online and instore so will make a trip and buy it.

Thinking of you. It seems that you are being sensible with the money to enable you to do the best for your daughter.

Have I missed something? Why the court case and need for DNA test. Ignore me if it's something you don't want to go over. X

more hugs Kavics - please stay around on the forum as I would like to know how you and baby girl are doing. I know you would rather have your OH here but at least you can relax and enjoy baby now when she arrives and not worry too much about money. I for one cant wait to 'meet' her. xx

From me too - I'd like to know how you are both doing as well if you feel up to it.
