want to graduate 30DS first and see what shape I'm in after that. Am still on level one. dipped in and out for a few days and it feels slightly less like I'm going to die each time. Today was the 1st time I've done two sessions two days back to back, so it will in interesting to see what state I'm in tomorrow :eek:If I'm dying I might take tomorrow as a rest day and make Sunday day 3, trying to get fitter not kill myself
Its odd but now that I know the routines I'm finding it easier to stick it out to the end of that section and push myself further than the previous day. I'm also slowly getting the hang of moves I couldn't do at all on the first day (e.g. modified push up). Each time I do the workout, I push for one or two more reps than last time. My competitive streak is coming out
Even with the stretches in the cool down I'm noticing a difference.
One thing that I really like about the insanity system is the countdown bar they put up on screen so you can see how long is left of that section. I imagine that would be quite motivating.
Just because it's too early for me to see any physical changes, it is good when you realise a move you couldn't do very well when you started out is becoming more do-able!
Keep it up pavlovs_dog!
Yeah, Shaun T is very good
I like the Insanity yellow progress bar too - I know when it's time for a water break or collapse on the floor in exhaustion is coming up! :rotfl:.0 -
Add whey protein if you can. The cheapest whey protein I could find is in myprotein.com £12.99 for 1 kg and that could last for at least a month or so.
Oats + 1 banana+ milk + 1tbsp of peanut butter + 1 scoop of protein powder = jam packed protein shake.
A month's worth of Lucozade is £15-30
Ingredients of Orange Lucozade: Carbonated Water, Glucose Fructose Syrup (24%), Orange Juice from Concentrate (5%), Citric Acid, Flavourings, Preservatives (Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Bisulphite), Stabiliser (Acacia Gum), Caffeine (0.012%), Antioxidant (Ascorbic Acid), Colour (Beta Carotene).
Glucose Fructose Syrup is High Fructose Corn Syrup. Watch BBC's documentary on Men Who Made Us Fat.Do Something Amazing- Give Blood0 -
My favorite cheap brekky:
High protein porridge/oats
Cook 1 cup of oats/porridge in water or milk.
Dissolve 1 scoop of whey protein in small amount of water in a separate container.
(Just put one scoop in cold water and let is stand then stir)
Cooking the whey protein denatures it.
When the oats are cooked, I then add this to my dissolved whey protein. Add stevia (if one so desires) or banana or handful of raisins.Do Something Amazing- Give Blood0 -
Hi and thanks for posting lavandergirl.
Sorry, I never mentioned that an Orange Lucozade is not an everyday drink, I only get them from ASDA when they are £2 for a six pack and then only have like 2 a week, but I get your point, thanks. I take a litre bottle of tap water into work and drink that.
While doing this Insanity workout, I do take a Whey Protein powder milkshake after each session. It's one of these I bought way back in January from H&B when it was half price, like it is now actually!

Your shake sounds nice! Isn't peanut butter very fattening though? And what oats do you recommend?
Anything from a supermarket, I'll look into this this weekend
Thanks again, bedtime now :rotfl:lavandergirl wrote: »Add whey protein if you can. The cheapest whey protein I could find is in myprotein.com £12.99 for 1 kg and that could last for at least a month or so.

Pavlov, I started with 30DS then P90x, then turbofire, then round2 of P90x. Just started Insanity. When I achieve my ideal body fat percentage- it will be Body Beast! Strong is the new skinny.
There are also quite a few people I know who started with 30DS.
Shaun T, Tony H and Chalene are all very engaging and very good in motivating someone to do their best.Do Something Amazing- Give Blood0 -
Don't be too scared of Fats- eat them in moderation. It's bad if you eat the whole tub! LOL. I only use 1 teaspoon a day. Watch out the ingredients though. If you can afford the ones without sugar and salt would be better. I bought Meridian natural peanut butter and it only cost like a £5 for 1 kg.
Oats- any plain oats! Buy what works for you.
SMART PRICE cottage cheese has the best nutritional value compared to all ASDA "natural", "less fat" cottage cheese.Do Something Amazing- Give Blood0 -

Totally agree! Remember, FAT IS NOT YOUR ENEMY, SUGAR IS!!!
Ditch the Lucozade, don't drink it, EVER!!
Diluted apple juice with a pinch of salt is the best isotonic drink you could have.
Here you go... make your own sports drinks :money:SMART PRICE cottage cheese has the best nutritional value compared to all ASDA "natural", "less fat" cottage cheese.
The same in Tesco too, their Everyday Value cottage cheese is the healthiest they sell and a fraction of the price of their "healthy living" version :rotfl:“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Thank you, that is really helpful
I don't think the cheapest peanut butter spread in Asda will be salt free and sugar free though, I'll have a look on the shelf :T
I'll also look at the plain oats too
I nearly fell off my chair reading about ASDA smart price cottage cheese - I can't believe I'm actually buying something right and the best stuff, ha ha!
:rotfl:
I have tried other brands (more expensive) and it's too runny, whereas I like this cheap thicker stuff!
Thanks :j.0 -

Just a quick whey protein queston:
You mentioned having a scoop in that delicious sounding shake I'm going to try, but also ia scoop in the hgh protein porridge / oats?
The stuff I take says "one scoop" a day. What happens if you take too much?
I already get a bit of stomach ache from taking just one scoop in my daily shakelavandergirl wrote:Dissolve 1 scoop of whey protein in small amount of water in a separate container. Cooking the whey protein denatures it.
Oh, spoke to soon, you put cooking it denatures it, so that's bad then?lavandergirl wrote: »My favorite cheap brekky:
