Oh heartbreak! I understand entirely where you are coming from.
I had such high hopes for my first weigh in, after following Insanity, plus Slimfast and then having extremely healthy salads practically every night - lots of salad veggies, lean protein and healthy fats from avocado. Weigh in result? Stayed the bloody same! I definitely did't go into starvation mode as I made sure I ate a sensible amount of calories, plus lots of water but I just didn't get the result I had hoped for.
I don't think it helped that I've had two periods within three weeks (due to my crappy Implant that I'm seriously considering having removed) and I always retain during that week anyway. Grr!
Felt so deflated and I'll admit I spent the weekend feeling very meh. I did the workouts but very half heartedly, I definitely didn't dig deep!
At least you can see a reduction on the tape measure and even though I find it hard to take my own advice, I really do think we'll see a difference with inches, rather than lbs. A very wise blogger advised me to step away from the scales and I know she is right.
I wont be weighing myself until the 7th September which will be the Friday before I go on my jollies. I'm just going to pick myself up, dust off all the self pity and really work my !!!! off. Instead of weighing in on a Friday and feeling low if the scale doesn't play nice , I'm just going to keep going and see what happens in 3 weeks time.
COME ON! WE CAN DO IT! :j:j0 -
We need to DIG DEEPER! And draw on the hatred reserves for fuel
*hugs* for Bumble!!

Hope u guys dont mind me joining in. I have been following this thread from the beginning and i am now on day 1 week 2 of Insanity myself.
Heartbreak_star, one thing i noticed from your blog (hope you dont mind me reading it) was the amount of calories you are consuming while doing Insanity. I started off eating low calories until i went on the beachbody forum and realised that this was far too low for doing this type of workout.
I was only eating 1200 as that was what i ate before i started. I have now upped this to 1800/2000, which is a struggle to eat, and feel so much better for doing so.
Also, from what i read, most of the results come from month 2 (if i get there) so dont be too disheartened just now, and just DIG DEEP lol!0 -
Hi Bubbles! Thanks for the kind words and feel free to read the blog - I am really doing this for weight loss and need to have a net 500cals less a day than maintenance eating levels
I do eat (and drink!) a lot of protein though, whey shakes are great.
I will keep pushing on ^_^

Step away from the scales - they are evil and do not account for muscle mass which is denser than fat!
The tape measure is the way forward. Remember, you are gaining muscle mass at the same time as losing fat. So long as the number on the tape measure is going down, then you are doing GREAT!
Ditch the scales!

Throw away those scales!!!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Scales lie. Measure yourself using tape measure. Take the "before" pictures and that should be the gauge in measuring progress.
Two things to consider.
1. Nutrition- is it healthy? look at its ingredients- as much as possible avoid chemicals in the food. More whole foods. Beware of foods that are low fat as it can be loaded with sugars and carbs. Beware of sugar and other sweeteners.
2. It is common to gain weight when starting a new exercise program.
