First of the month and first spends. Top up shop and some cheeky doughnuts (I don't intend to go on as I start, but haven't had a doughnut in ages and couldn't resist). So £4.51/£200.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0

NSD for me here - have been to Mr T but only for the children to spend the money they made selling their unwanted stuff. For next year's unwanted stuff no doubt.0

Hi all,
Ended up spending £29 in Mr T in the end- just didnt need enough to make it up to the £40 ( £6 off £40 voucher)
But for that I got half price: suntan lotion, aftersun, face cream, fake tan and 2 x washing liquid- Surf 28 wash for £2.24!!! Amazing price!!
So budget abit blowen but bargain too good to turn down
PG- Love the picnic ideas:DO/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)0 -
On course for a NSD for me today, been to zumba class (included in my free gym membership for a month) and it was really difficult to not go to the market to buy more bits and pieces, but I resisted, especially because tomorrow I have a bit of an extra spend, going out with a friend in the evening. The meal will be very cheap (£4 for an eat-all-you-can vegetarian curry) but it is still more than I would normally spend on a meal cooked at home.
Edited to confirm that today is definitely a NSD!Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Last month i lost the plot, think i was about £30 over, oh well, had a few birthdays etc and the olympic torch came last week, so we all went to pub after (as you do), soon mounts up, but am focussed for this month. Can you please put me down for £120 for August and i am going to do my best to stick to it. Sorry, i have not read through posts, so (((((hugs))))) and best wishes to all in need. I have spent about £23 so far and will update signature soon.0

Is it just me that found July an incredibly long month???? I thought it would never end!!
:rotfl:
Spent £32 today in Sainbods on what seems not a lot.....although it did include protein rich bits and bobs for me as I have been poorly (passed out again and whisked off to A&E by ambulance ) but at least they have realised why it has been happening. Hurt my ankle and knees landing on a concrete floor, so today is my 1st day out without crutches, used DGS's buggy to hold me up:o:o
I am making HM pizza for tea with JJ's cheesy bread base and using up LO bacon, cheeses, onion, peppers and bought 2 mushrooms (21p) to add a bit more flavour.

Hey Fozzie - I wondered where you'd been! How awful for you. Sending (((hugs))) and hope you are soon on the mend (and there was me thinking you were too busy with your new man
)
Will be buying potatoes and toothpaste today - strange combination(!) but trying to eek out the days til we go away without spending too much.
Chicken 'casserole in a bag' type thing for dinner tonight, with mash and veg.
PG - what about cherry tomatoes/basil leaf/mozzarella cubes on cocktail sticks or fruit chunks on sticks (melon/pineapple/grapes) for your buffet. I always have a bowl of couscous (Ain$ley flavoured ones from AF) as this is cheapish - unless of course you just want a finger buffet
Will be back later to update totals.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -

Aw - thank you! I WAS with Nice-New-Man when it happened, and he was brilliant!! Followed the ambulance is his car, stayed with me in A&E, made sure I was okay, got water, pushed me in the wheelchair etc.
I remember muttering to the ambulance man (who thought he was my husband) that I had only known him 5 weeks and what must he think of me for collapsing like that:rotfl::D
It was all HIGHLY embarrassing but Nice-New-Man couldnt have been better or kinder or more concerned :A0 -

This has made my day as I have a 50p off voucher for any of these new range from PG, so I will get one for free as there's no min. spend! Woop! :j  :T

PS - Yesterday did massive shops so will post later with totals as didn't have a couple of bits so need to get them tonight.
Doing cous cous salad for treaty tea tonight for me and mum as it's first week of new month:
Cous cous (half a bag is 50p)
Veg stock (10p?)
Halloumi (£2.40 but 3 for 2 atm so stock up!)
Jar roasted peppers (I use trattoria verdi from Mr T for £1.19)
Chickpeas (east end are 29p in Mr T atm)
Rocket (£1)
Low fat natural yoghurt (50p)
Harissa (1/2 small jar so £1)
Seasoning (negligible)
Total cost for 2-4 people as above depending on appetite/whether you have fresh bread with it or not = £7.48. Expensive!!!
- Make up relevant amount of cous cous using stock cube (I use veg 0x0)
- Meanwhile drain peppers but don't rinse them
- Drain chickpeas
- Mix chickpeas, peppers, rocket with cous cous
- Mix harissa into natural yoghurt to taste
- Griddle/fry/grill halloumi in slices and top the cous cous with it
- Drizzle over the spicy yoghurt to taste
