parsley will give the batter interesting green flecks - don't think will taste of much but you can give it a go - it won't kill you anyhow!
Gotta go - cook our tea (lentil dhal with rice, red onion relish, salad, yoghurt and potato raita and mango chutney.....)
will pop back later to see how you got on - good luck!0 -

Panic not. Toad in the hole is MUCH easier than pancakes !!!
Even I was surprised how easy it was - and I panic over every new dish I try to make - took me 8 months of marriage to pluck up the courage to roast a chicken!!
Edit: I don't put salt or pepper (or parsley) in the batter. It's fine as it is.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Compact and bijou ...
As long as it tastes good is my test!0 -

That pancake looks just fine to me - you were'mt expecting to get all those little holes like shop bought ones have were you?
Love the idea of Toad in the Hole, though I do mine differently slightly - I part cook the sausages in the oven in the pan I'm gonna do the Toad in, then give 'em a real good shake about to spread the fats that cook out of them & use just that to 'oil' the pan - works fine for me!
I also thought of just having sausage mash peas & gravy from your list - a family favorite - actually might do that tonight!
Edited to add
