I'm a little behind the times. I need a PCMCIA slot for a 3G card and, having bought this, I realise that there is no such slot - it's a PC express slot which is the same width at he opening and then tapers to 2/3 the width inside.
This screws me as I need mobile internet. Express 3G cards seem to be almost as much as the bloody laptop.
Anyone know if there's a converter to use the PCMCIA card with this, either via the Express port or via USB?
My only other solution seems to be to get a 3G phone and a data cable.
Suggestions?0 -

Not sure whether something like this would be suitable but I guess it should.

Thanks.
This is an interesting product, but damned expensive, escpecially when you express it as a % of the cost of these bargain Dell machines.
Does anyone know if the SIM from a data card will work in a phone?0 -
Whilst it might not be the cheapest option does Dell not offer an internal 3g card for these laptops?
I have a work Dell Latitude D620 and that has an internal 'daughterboard' 3g add on card.
I also have the Vodafone 3g USB modem (which is very good by the way) as my personal Macbook dont have any PC card slots.
Dont forget good ole Ebay for the Vodafone USB modem - I paid £60 for mine off contract0 -
I hope someone else is going to admit to not knowing this but thought i would post here as i would never have known if i hadnt read it last night on a review.
Your pad has a right side bar and bottom bar printed on it, which you can tap on and slide to scroll on sites etc instead of having to move over with your pointer to the sites side scroll.
Go on then, all take the mick, bet you all knew that.0 -
Ok, here goes, never posted on here before...
...we purchased the Dell INSPIRON 1501 laptop which arrived today (XP version.) Hubby installed Championship Manager 01/02 as he lies this one the best, however it wont allow him to play it as its saying there isnt enough memory??? Its meant t have 1gb memory minus the 256mb graphics. So does anyone know why this could be, or should I just phone up Dell tomorrow??0 -

Try and get it to run as "Windows XP compatible" as it may not be compatible with Vista.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -

Get the latest graphics drivers from AMD (link in this thread somewhere).
Have you applied the games latest patches?
