Well, Dell rang just now to arrange delivery, and said it can be scheduled to arrive tomorrow between 8 and 6. As I'm not around until next week I managed to get them to dispatch it for Monday, so I'm happy with that

Well, I ordered mine on monday, and it STILL says delivery preparation... no word of when I'll get delivery, and the dell line just leaves you on hold...
Not impressed...

Also, if on the off chance I DO get through, anyone got any hints or tips for persuading them to knock the price down on Vista premium?;)

ordered mine last night 8pm, ive tried to track my order through dell but it still says "Unfortunately your order has not been found", it does however say that it can take up to 72hours for it to allow time for the order to load into our online status system.

how long did it take you guys to log in and track your order?

on a side note, dell just called me to ask if im buying the laptop for Personal use or business, and i forgot to ask them about the status lol

Come on, give them a little time. If your order was placed monday it will almost certainley say on your confirmation that delivery will be on 3/4 April or POSSIBLY sooner.

To upgrade to premium you have to cancel the original order and place a new one. Dell Do NOT do ammendments to orders. The upgrade cost me a mere £7.68, just ask !!

slightly off topic, my new laptop arrived last night.

everything works okay except playing my avi files.

when i try to play an avi file in windows media player all i get is sound but no picture.

ive also downloaded VLC media player, and the same occurs.

can anyone offer any advice ???
