Amazing DELL Laptop Deals £328 Superb Spec XP or Vista

I will just stick with the vista basic.
It was a great price.
To build the same spec today, I see it would cost £552.32 so I feel I got a good bargain.
And this price would also have been vista basic.0 -
I originally ordered on Sunday, then tuesday decided i wanted the upgrade, so after speaking to 3 different Dell sales agents about the price difference between my original order and a possible new one, the best offer I got was the last one at £7.61 extra (not £7.68 as i originally said). A deal too good to be refused, so i immediately placed a new order and cancelled the original even though it was in production. I was given 3 different prices for the upgrade. £25, £17 and the £7.61.
The only snag with this is that you will probably lose your Quidco cashback so you have to take that into account. My original online order has tracked with Quidco, but when it comes to payment it may get declined. But that doesn't always happen as the system will show a sale of the laptop to me, albeit on a different order number !
Hang on, you were charged £7.61 for an upgrade to Vista premium? which system was this?
I was charged £30+ VAT for my upgrade. Originally I asked how much the upgrade would cost, I was told £20 + VAT, but my final quoted price was 420.76- which I didn't expect as £387 + 20 (+17.5) = 410.50 I enquired this, but was told he had made a mistake and that the upgrade was actually £30 + VAT.
Should I phone up and say my 'friend' recieved his upgrade for £7.61, I want the difference knocked off, otherwise I'll cancel the order. Do you reckon that would work?0 -

Normally, Dell batteries are labelled with a value of the power they supply... Look for something like 53W/HR on the battery, or something similar. If yours IS the 6 cell, it should say 53, or something very close.0 -

McAfee is only a 30-day trial so I'd uninstall that. I also wouldnt install Norton's as that also slows down computers...
Install a free antivirus such as AVG Free and make sure the Windows security is turned on

right..... Im glad you point out that Nortons slow the comp down, my desktop computer takes about 10 mins to open.... Now I know why. Thank you love.
One more thing, how do I check if windows security is turned on??0 -
yeh, norton is the worst thing you can ever put on any computer
even uninstalling it is a mission in it self as it always leaves some Norton files behind.
to make sure windows security is on see here for a step by step guide: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/help/c5e78ee2-b00a-444d-8c57-e29bda8768a81033.mspx
hope this helps0 -
