What charges you can claim

Hi,
This may be a daft question but, I have my bank statement and Lloyds have told me that the wording I am looking for is 'overdraft excess fee' and that's all in terms me tracing of punitive charges. Is this correct? Should I be looking for anything else, does anyone know?
N.B. Lloyds also state that because of OFT's findings in July '07, it may take up to a year for my unfair interest charges to be settled and I have the impression even then, the money may not be returned to me.
Thanks for guidance.0 -
Hi
We are still in the process of claiming our bank charges for our business account. We have a been offered an amount but we are not happy with it therefore we are taking it to court. But before we do we just wanted to double check if a certain charge is something we can claim. Basically on our statements majority of our charges are
-charges 28APR A/C******£35.43
the list goes on with these types of charges. I am not sure what kind charges these are but I wanted to know can these be claimed back.
Thank you for your help.

You need to read this thread and you don't need to respond to the solicitor, only if the court asks you for more information.

Due to the technical problems with the forums the beginning posts in the above thread are missing but all the information is on the page I linked above.0 -
Hi,
Can i reclaim the charges incurred for late payment of monthly mortgage payments?
Plz help??
Thanks0 -
I have two questions,
1) I called Nationwide and asked them to send me details of my charges. They said rather than sending out details of the charges they will log it as a complaint and if the test case is in favour of refunding charges they will do so then. Do you think this is sufficient or should I ask for the details and send the letter anyway?
2) I deal with the finances for the company I work for. Can I claim charges on company bank accounts and credit cards?

Hi there, I hope someone can help.
Basically, I used to have a Halifax account when I was a student, and as usual, they kept offering me bigger and bigger overdrafts until I was stuck with £900.
Anyway, I have a few but not all of my bank statements for this account, as I closed it down a few years ago for this reason :
Some months, I was say, about -£882.38 OD (my limit was £900) and I just wasn't even using my account for anything because I obviously couldn't afford it. However, on that month, I was then charged £28 in "Charges" and £21.13 in interest. This obviously took me to -£931.51 - which was over my overdraft limit.
I was paying in money as much as I could, but the charges and interest were taking me over my over draft limit, thus, more interest, and more charges!!!
Now, I guess what I am asking is ; can I claim back the interest that took me to go over my over draft?
This is all quite confusing, but I'd love to get something back off the Halifax because they were utter pigs to me whilst I was a student and costs me so much money in charges and interest, it was madness!
Thanks in advance.0 -

Kittensoup - you can claim back all the charges with interest. Look for the calculator somewhere on the reclaim charges section. Post back if you cannot find it and I'll give more detail.
