  • At the end of the day if I get my money back from Halifax it is down to this website and hasnt cost me a penny.

The least I can do is share what knowledge I have picked up and hope someone else can save a few quid!!
  • Can the banks levy charges as much as they want or is there a maximum £amount or maximum number of charges per month? I am interested in particular with halifax. I think I have read somewhere that there is a maximum of some kind but it was a while ago and I can't be sure.

erm... I ould.. the basis of the claims are that the charges are unfair as they do not reflect the true cost to the bank... so in my opinion.. yes.. I would say you could.... but don't quote me..lol

    Pigs BAck = 1230 points
    Boots Card = £19.42
    Tesco points this 1/4 = 6523
    Tesco Vouchers saved = £65

On reading the first page I see that you cannot claim back service charges. I am with RBS and have had an overdraft for about 4 years now. During that time, if a DD took me over my overdraft limit I would receive an 'Advice of Service' charge which was based on a 'Maintenance Charge'.

Am I able to claim this back? I only incurred this charge when I was over my overdraft, usually by not more than £5.
  • Hi!

I have just come off the phone to Lloyds TSB and what they have said is as clear as mud!!
