Can anyone tell me what charges I can actually claim? For instance can I claim the monthly overdraught fee that my bank charges me?

Hey all, new to the forums and have a quick couple of questions if anyone can help, that would be grand...
I received my statements in the post today from my old student royalties account with RBS which I opened in May 2003 and was closed in September 2005... As per the info on the site, I went through the statements and highlighted all the charges, there was just a couple of things I wasn't sure of...
1. A charge listed as a Default Notice Fee... (can I claim this back?)
2. Monthly Referral Charges... (can I claim?)
3. What's the best way to list my charges...? At the moment i've got a separate sheet with the date, cost of charge and charge reason, in a list... is this ok, or is there a template for this too...?
Most of the charges are card misuse and unpaid item fees, but i'm looking to claim back £1480.00 if my calculations are correct...
Wish Me Luck!
Cheers,

Have just posted on here regarding a letter received today from Lloyds TSB I looked at thread about what you can claim back and am now totally confused.
On the list they sent for us to work out how much had been charged over the years what I have requested back is a charge called 'Overdraft Excess Fee' (firstly £20 a time then £30 a time) and 'Unpaid Direct Debit Fee' (£35 a time).
Are these the ones that I should be writing about?I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.:eek:0 -

Bluebird - have I got it right.
With Lloyds bank the words you are looking for are 'O/Draft Excess Fee' and 'Unpaid D/D' when going through the list to work it all out. Any figures beside these words is the ones you want.
Im totallly confused as we had a letter from Lloyds refusing to pay up and I found the wording of their letter confusing, as the above is what I based the claim for charges on.I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.:eek:0 -
I've noticed another charge on my account at the end of every month for £10.00 every month... it reads:
CHG To 27FEB A/C 1009XXXX
Anyone who has claimed from RBS know what they are... thought it might be an unauthorised overdraft charge? and if so, can it be claimed...
Thanks in advance...

Hi again
This looks like an account service charge. You said you had a 'Royalties' account with them, this is a packaged account and £10 sounds about right for the fee.
To be double sure phone them and check.

Hi everyone, I have a rbos royalties account which you pay a monthly fee. When they have applied a referral charge this monthly fee is higher, can I claim the difference between normal charge and this higher charge. ie normal charge =£5 after referral it was £30, can I claim back £25???0

Yes, take off the Royalties fee and claim the rest.0
