You're really going to have to learn to read. The questions are in the posts.

As for melodrama, you asked a question about wearing a ring for X reason.
You were given a viable alternative based on your logic, and an opinion that it wasn't about the actual ring or showing the wife, it about asking yourself whether you wanted to be wearing a ring or not, and why.

I posted out of curiousity, not a need for melodrama, I thought that was obvious from the OP. As for melodrama, seriously, your trying to psychoanalyse a forum posting from someone you've never met, or ever will meet!!!

Sorry, I also didn't realise I had to respond to every suggestion.

Wearing a cheap ring, as with the sunglasses, I may do this. Is that ok?

The rest about "wanting to wear the ring" i'm afraid, it total BS and doesn't warrant a reply

edit: just realised you were talking about wedding bands, i somehow read sunglasses, think i saw "brands" rather than bands!!

I know you did and I think it's a good idea that's why I picked up on it

What I meant by being OTT was your further posts AFTER this brill suggestion. Basically trying to turn the whole original post into some kind of reverse psychology

You already have, earlier. If you don't want a reply, say so. It's a public forum where you started a thread with a question.

Mate, my wedding ring is welded on, if my wife found me not wearing it, it had better be because I lost my whole finger!
If you are worried that your fingers may shrink and the thing fall off, put a waterproof plaster around it.

    ^^^ Take note from Richard

Fingers usually swell up in the heat anyway, not shrink - you're not going to lose it but if you were my OH and you said you weren't going to wear your wedding ring on a stag do, you'd lose more than your ring mate
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

they tend to shrink in water, but that's as maybe he gave a good tip bout a waterproof plaster

lucky for everyone concerned that i'm not

I don't even wear my ring most of the time. It's not important to us. She's never said she's bothered about it anyway.

I don't even know where it is, on the floor of the bedroom somewhere I think, but it's black so impossible to find unless you tread on it.

If a bloke is going to do something how is a bit of metal on one finger going to stop him.

EXACTLY! If my husband took his wedding ring off it wouldnt bother me, if the only thing stopping him was the fact he was wearing a wedding ring i'd say we had some issues already ;)

Your husband said he wasn't going to wear his wedding ring on a stag do?

I've just been looking at buying a pair of cheap sunglasses to take on a stag do to benidorm next week because there is no way on earth i'm taking my raybans.

This got me thinking, my ring is far more expensive and in some respect is irreplaceable regardless of value. With all the booze and water and general hijinks that will go on, should i take it with me? and secondly how would my wife see it?

    Two things zaffi....

    1. You know your wife - how do you think she'll see it?

    2. What would be your reaction if your wife told you she wouldn't be wearing her wedding ring on a girls weekend away?

My view? I wouldn't like it all but that's because I am rather old fashioned about symbols and traditions and feel that once a ring is on, it stays on (aside from dangerous work or hygiene purposes!) :)
Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!!
  • My bf came home from a stag do about two years ago and told me that one of the married guys on the do had purposefully removed his wedding ring, with the intention of going on the pull. Therefore, with that in mind, I would be very suspicious and I can't say I'd be too impressed!
