It's not that long ago that men didn't wear wedding rings . Women generally do have a ring . My dad had no ring , DH didn't want a ring when we got married + that was fine. A loose ring can be lost anywhere not just on holiday . There should be trust whether rings are worn or not .

If my husband wanted to go anywhere without his ring I would wonder why as he has never taken it off since we got married. It shouldn't easily come off anyway so that seems like an excuse to me.

i've heard of keyboard warriors, but keyboard phycologists

it's a throw away topic that i thought about when looking at £4 sunglasses on asos earlier, as others have said if i wanted to cheat i could remove my ring before i have my first beer at the airport

    gotta love the melodrama

Yes, I will spell it out again. This is not a case of showing the ring to your wife like a good little boy showing mummy that he's done his homework.

It's a case of asking yourself whether you actually want to be without a ring.

And yes, you do seem to love the melodrama, whilst dodging the questions.

Londonsurrey I think you are being a bit OTT tbf and blowing this all just a tad out of proportion.

Zaffi might just be worth buying a cheapy ring showing it to your wife and saying btw got this today because x,y,z and go from there. That way your not going out there without a ring you're going out there with a ring that has no sentimental purpose.

I remember when I went from being engaged to being single I felt my bare finger was like a beacon screaming I'm available, when of course noone actually notices unless it's a nice ring or they are wondering whether you are single.

Logically it shouldn't be a big deal, but I think emotionally it somehow is and the cheap ring like the cheap sunglasses sounds like a good idea.

My OH told one of his "friends" that he didn't think he could go on his stag night as I might not let him. I was horrified that he thought I might not let him, but he explained this was a good way of getting out of an expensive weekend away that he didn't want. But I would only "ban" stag parties at his request, otherwise he might feel he could say something about my nights out or time away.

It is quite right that trust is a state of mind and unaffected by a metal band, logically that is true, but sometimes it is hard to only think logically.

You're really going to have to learn to read. The questions are in the posts.

As for melodrama, you asked a question about wearing a ring for X reason.
You were given a viable alternative based on your logic, and an opinion that it wasn't about the actual ring or showing the wife, it about asking yourself whether you wanted to be wearing a ring or not, and why.

Faith, if you read posting #15, I mentioned the cheap ring alternative.

I know you did and I think it's a good idea that's why I picked up on it

What I meant by being OTT was your further posts AFTER this brill suggestion. Basically trying to turn the whole original post into some kind of reverse psychology
