Do you hang your undies on the line?

I hang mine out in all their glory, nicest ones to the outside of the whirlygig, not so nice on the inner lines. I'd rather hang them out than people think I didn't wear any.
I always think it strange when I see neighbours with no undies out and can't resist looking for a VPL if I see them walking down the street just to see if they do actually wear them.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

At the time i was mortally embarrassed not realising he was joking, and as a result have subsequently always dried my smalls indoors not wanting to take the risk of them disappearing!
I have single middle aged men living either side of me, and i certainly dont want them to see what i wear under my clothes so joke or not, my stepfather actually did me a favour!
I can imagine it must of been horrifying for you to be told that at the time but your post has just made my day!!! Absolute classic!!!

Hence why I am unnerved about hanging out my smalls. There are some weird folk out there who just cannot resist having a peep.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

nope, they get dried in the privacy of my own room.
When I lived at home I had a real problem hanging my smalls out on the line to such an extent my Dad would really rib me about getting my "unmentionables" on the line.
So now I have a phobia about it. I live alone and I STILL hang them on airer in the bedroom!!!0 -
I had mine out in all their glory today, perfect knicker drying weather!:DRaven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0

have to say agree with this,
smalls and socks on the insides and the larger the item the higher it goes.. ie jeans and towels on the highest..0 -
One of my rather prim and proper teachers used to hang out her underwear covered with sheets of newspaper. I know because my friend lived next door. I wonder if the newsprint came off on her knickers. This I might add was late 50s, early 60s!
My own are out there fluttering now.0 -

My neighbours rarely hang any washing out - they haven't got a tumble dryer!
The man has remarked on the amount of washing I do! Don't think he's eyeing up my undies, though.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I always hang mine and OH's out, it would never have occurred to me not to. This thread has been a real eye-opener lol.
As for nice undies in case of an accident, I swear by this! My theory is that if something awaful happens, it will be one less thing to worry about knowing I've got decent pants on. But then my underwear always has to match - it would feel like going out in un-matched shoes if my bra and pants were different.0 -
I always used to hang everything on the line, but then I got ill & didn't have the energy to keep running up & down the stairs (I'm in a flat) if it rained. Now I just hang sheets, towels, & jeans out. What I spend on tumbling I save by not having to iron everything.0
