I just thought of this thread while hanging out five bras and one rather, ahem, lacy 'nighty'...but my garden is not overlooked!
It does remind me though of a few weeks ago when I was unwell and my grandparents came round to help me out. My grandad was hanging washing out for me and suddenly said to my grandma 'ooh look at these fancy knicks, we should get you some like this!' I immediately thought 'oh god, what has he found?!' and looked over expecting to see something highly embarrassing...instead he was holding up some of my comfiest big grey pants...they just happen to have a little frill round the waistband and the tiniest bow on the front, but apart from that they are huge and old and shapeless etc! And he wasn't being sarcastic...0 -

I remember a time when I thought that all knickers were the classical panty shape that I'd been wearing since nursery, and a little bow or *gasp* an inset panel of lace at the side of a pair of a pair of knickers were the height of luxurious decadence.
And I'm 410 -

:rotfl: I remember when my daughter was living at home and wearing thongs (not very much material.) My OH was hanging out the washing and I was watching from the window and saw him looking somewhat confused, when I realised what was happening. I called my daughter and we started howling at his attemps to 'de-tangle' her thongs and peg them on the line. He eventually gave up, bless him. I hasten to add he has no problem with my knickers. He refers to them as my "1001's" as he holds them above his head (I'll leave you to figure that one out :rotfl:)
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.:kisses3:0 -
No no no. I certainly do not want my neighbours knowing anything so personal as to what underwear I own! Its personal and I don't chose to flaunt it.
When we were kids, me and my siblings used to have hours of fun laughing at the old woman next door's tent sized knicks she used to hang outThe opposite of what you know...is also true0 -

There is nothing I love more than freshly washed bed sheets than have been line-dried. Makes me go to sleep in no time :j
Oh but there is.
I despised ironing, it took forever and never looked half done anyway! I had even considered taking the lot to an ironing serviceThen I got one of these babies... Wow! My daughters pretty little dresses with frills and bows and other such things that are a real PITA to fix took no time at all
I went through the whole pile in no time.
In fact, I even took stuff out of the drawers to re-iron the first night I got it :A:rotfl:
I absolutely hate ironing except for bedding right after it has come off the line. One of the nicest bits about when you go to a hotel really. It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.0 -
Not so much the hanging your undies on the line, it's the retrieving them from next door's car roof the next day
That or deny all knowledge0 -
I don't hang my knickers or any of the family's socks on the high line, instead I use one of those little plastic peg things that hangs from a metal hook. Everything else goes on the normal line.0

Worst story I can recall is about 10 years ago beautiful sunny day and went out for a pub meal in a pub with a lovely garden.Which had a terraced garden at different levels.Sat down then a elderly lady came out from the house next door to hang her washing out.
She first pegged out one of those flowery apron things then went on to hang out the biggest greyest huge pants of all time about 10 pairs  All inside out with the stained gussets showing on every pair :eek::eek::eek::eek:
Really horrible experience lol
I am sure the old girl waited until it was a lovely day with the pub garden full of diners
