Elj - congratulations, hope you are both recovering well from the birth
snowy - i rented a tens from mothercare for about £28 for 6 weeks
Taada - i am also in a quandry about reusables - i want to use them but dont want to spend a lot of money on ones that might not fit my baby. so i am doing a trial from a local lady costs £25 for 2 weeks they give you all the kit and different types of nappy (also £50 deposit which you get back) found her on www.goreal.org.uk maybe there is something similar in your area.
cake for brains - ferrous sulphate and fumarate are the ones which tend to cause people stomach problems - you should be able to get one called something like ferrous gluconate from your GP which doesnt upsets peoples stomachs as much
my iron tablets say dont take with caffeine or milk as this can reduce absorption
Chrissy - its good to keep the 5 weeks in your head then you wont be so worried when due date passes you by
i am nearly a boldie!! woo hoo!
went to see new batman film today and loved it - although be warned its 2 hours 45 mins long - but i managed to stick it out without needing a wee lol
husband is cooking lamb burgers yum
how are ladies in the top ten feeling with regards to down below? it feels quite pressured for me down there and in the evenings i get a bit of soreness/pain. is anyone else worried about waters breaking and ruining bed/car or sofa? lol

The friend I mentioned having a bubs measuring over 5lb at 32 weeks got taken in for her induction today at 42 weeks only to be told bubs is breach and they will have to book her in for a c-section. Think she'd got it into her head she would have bubs today and now they are saying Monday or Tuesday to herYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Just popping on very quickly
Cakesforbrains if you want I can email you the voucher for 20% for babies r us? Just PM me your email.
Cazza welcome!
Twinklie we will miss you! Good luck with the move.
My trip to babies r us was a success
We went for our cot which was 139.99 reduced from 159.99 and mattress was 79.99 from £150. Of course we got a couple of other little bits. So anyway grand total came to £246.14
With 20% off reduced to 196.91
£10 voucher when spending over £100 from my friend
Then an assistant gave us the newest brochure with another £15 of coupons, one for buying a cotbed with mattress and for spending over £60.
So total was £171.91 so saved over £74 :j :j :j
My MIL is buying us the cot and mattress so she'll be chuffed with the discount. I'm most chuffed with the cup holder that is designed to attach to a pushchair but fixed perfectly to my wheelchair! Definitely a good day here
Right OH is BBQing homemade burgers, I'm sooooo hungry.
Hope everyone has a nice evening xxx:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Sorry, I know this isn't pregnancy related (only in the nesting sense) but had to celebrate my achievement, however small. Well I've just managed to persuade Moon to order a replacement door seal for our washing machine as the rubber's got so ingrained with mould that it's become impossible to clean, and is making the washing smell. Should arrive this week, so it'll be fun to see how easy/hard it is to fit. Only cost just over £14 including delivery as we ordered a compatible part rather than the official Bosch part which is 3 times the price. Looking forward to having a non-smelly machine. Trouble is, cos it's out in the garage, it has a tendency to get damp, but I think as long as I get into the habit of wiping the seal dry after each use and keeping the door ajar, it should be ok.
Anyway, back to pregnancy-related stuff. Have taken my third dose of the iron tablets now, and so far (touches wood) I've not had any ill-effects from them. Was reading my omeprazole packet, and read that a rare side effect of taking them is anaemia in children - wonder if it can affect adults simlarly? I've only been taking a higher dose for the last couple of months and the midwife did say it's common to develop lower iron counts at this stage in the pregnancy as the baby saps all of your vitamins due to its growth, so it could just be coincidence I suppose.
twinklie we shall miss you greatly. Don't go having your baby without us will you?! *sends stay put vibes to twinklie's bean* I know how awful it is not to have internet access - I can't believe how much I've come to rely on it for everything - so much so, that I deliberately got a smartphone so that I can access my emails when I'm in school (email accounts are normally blocked where we live).
Sorry to hear about your friend ikkle - I bet those couple of days go really slowly for her. On a positive side, she has a couple more days to get everyhing completely organised for when she gets home (eg. making sure the sheets are washed for her bed so that she has a nice fresh bed to get into - made by her OH of course so that she isn't having to try to do that when she gets home), putting things in low cupboards on higher shelves so she can reach without bending etc (my cereals are kept in the bottom cupboard in our kitchen, so I'll have to put them out on the worktop just in case). She may not have thought about these sorts of things, but having things done beforehand means she'll have to rely less upon other people to help her if she's used to doing everything independently.
Excellent bargains LMM - I've not had that email either, so a bit peaved.
jedi I'm quite a way off yet, but am definitely worried about the waters ruining things - we have a memory foam mattress (won't be able to clean it), and will be taking my car to the hospital as Moon's is quite a hard ride (although this may be his driving too).Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -

Hi Rups,
any chance you could have a migraine?
perhaps call nhs direct for some advice if you cant get hold of a doctor.
Hope you feel better soon, try having a lie down and drink plenty of fluids, ((Hugs))Rachel

Rups, I would see if you can contact the midwife or out of hours doctor just in case. They may need to check your blood pressure is ok.
jedi I've just had a google online about mattress protectors etc. Tesco have a double waterproof mattress protector for just over £2 that you could get to go under your sheet -it is a plasticy one though, so may be a bit sticky, and your OH may not appreciate having to share in it. Alternatively, they also seem to be the cheapest for maternity bed mats (£3.20 for 5) at the moment that you could put just on your side - could also be used on your seat in the car or on the sofas.
Have also discovered that if anyone is interested in buying the Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream that Sainsbugs have it on offer for the next few days at £6.65 (although our NCT breastfeeding specialist said not to bother as actually rubbing your own breastmilk into the nipple works just as well and is free), and they have winged maternity pads 2packs of 10 for £1.50.
