Havent posted in a few days, saw the midwife the other day about the tightenings in my bump. She had a feel and said felt fine and we listened to heartbeats again, though 1 was hiding a bit so took her a while. She's sent my urine away for testing, said there was a tiny bit of protein in it but nothing to worry about.

Jedi - Thanks for posting about Iron tablets, I was told to take 1 iron tablet a day (ferrous sulphate) a couple of wk ago when I saw consultant and have been feeling sick and had stomach ache since. Tbh I didnt even link the 2, wondering now if I should ask for different tablets. Ive been constipated too but have increased my lactulose and I think thats helping. At my booking in appt my Iron level was 13.2 and it is now 11

Breast pumps - I won a manual breast pump, a baby bath, a top and tail bowl and a bottle warmer in one bulk auction on Ebay for the grand total of £1.04 !!! Havent looked at the pump properly but Im assuming the replacement pads etc are a standard size

I see people have been getting a 20% voucher from Toys R Us, Im sure I have signed up to them, Im definitely signed up for babies r us, but I didnt get an email. Is there something else I should have done/signed up for? TIA. My brothers buying us a twin pushchair from there so would be lovely to save him some money

Taadaa - Ive just been buying reusable nappies from ebay whenever they are going really cheap. Have got about 30 so far, some size 1's, some birth to potty. I figure I can see which works best and then buy more when needed. We're going to have lots of newborn disposables to get through as well that we got free/cheap

Really struggling to get about at the mo, have a trapped nerve at the top of my leg so in lots of pain and Im currently sofa-bound. Havent had any mood swings since I got pregnant but these last few days Im not particularly nice to be around. Keep snapping at DH but cant help myself. The pain doesnt help of course

Afternoon all,

Thanks for the advice re breast pumps. I went for the used medela swing in the end at £40 was too much of a bargain to pass on, I will just look into the bits I need to replace to make it sterile.

Just back from our third try at the gender scan and we are team blue!!!! As soon as the lady placed the probe thing on my belly there was no doubt it was a little boy! Absolutely over the moon! Popped too toys r us after and brought a few olive and Henri bits for the nursery while it's 20% off and got a pack of cute vests with dinosaurs on in the sale.

I'm so excited I need Xmas to hurry up so I can meet my little man.

I can't believe I'm losing you ladies on Tuesday. I'm moving and will have no internet and until I can upgrade my phone (5th August is the earliest), I will also have no internet on that. GUTTED.

So although I'll go AWAL for a while, it won't be baby related...don't panic. lol

Taken me an age to read and catch up, been away to the coast for a few days and quickly realised thats my last long car journey for a while (never have travelled well).
Had a lovely time and the sun was out for most of it so glad we got away.

I was catching up and it seems alot of us seem to have the same first outfit, OH and I bought some bits in the next sale and one of the pieces is a little creamy outfit with a beige star on it, sounds very similar to the outfits others have decribed. it is very cute though and will be fine even if expected dd turns out to be a ds.

I felt so ill last night, ate far too much on friday and struggled to sleep all night but actually doing well on little sleep today but hoping to sleep better tonight.

Still cant imagine that the little bumps i can feel are going to be baby sized in just a few wks, it does feel so small in there.

i second this - i havent brought any wipes most were freebies or brought by relatives. our midwife said not to use wipes on baby until 4 - 6 months - just water and cotton wool - i know this seems a bit crazy to some people - trying to get baby pool off with just water.

there are also cheeky wipes which are reusable wipes - i am thinking of buying these - just do a search on the net and you will find their website.

Trying not to be too worked up about lack of baby but am being a bit of a grump sometimes and unintentionally taking it out on my husband. I'm doing pregnancy yoga which is relaxing but my general state of mind is fairly wound up! In my yoga DVD the instructor says relaxing the jaw is related to relaxing the cervix/uterus; I grind my teeth at night and would clench my jaw a lot when going to sleep even before I was pregnant. Now I find myself inadvertently in the daytime! Maybe I need some gas and air already to relax ... pity the hospital don't give you it in advance! Phew.

Anyway keep your fingers crossed for me and I'll keep mine crossed for you all, especially my fellow boldies! Thanks guys xx

fingers are crossed AMC - yes my yoga teacher also said about how important it is to keep relaxed. i also feel most of my tension in my jaw, i was getting agitated the other day and felt it. i have been listening to relaxation/hypnobirthing CDS to try and stay relaxed, i do think it is helping.
