morocha, that sounds sensible. See how you feel in a couple of months time and decide then, I am sure you will make the right decision for all of you
... and yes, I should do the freaking bag!!! I went yesterday to uni and my supervisor told me off for not having the bag ready or the notes with me!! I dreamt I was having early labour signs but in my dream everybody kept saying "no worries, that can last for over a week, you will give birth in your EDD, everything is going as it should". I went to bed thinking about what other people have felt before going into labour and if there are any other signs other than the obvious (plug, waters, show, nesting...). So I guess that my dream was all related to that! I have just started to feel different this week, so I am wondering if any of the mums in the boards can tell whether they started to feel different a week ahead, or two weeks ahead, or nothing at all!
Pisces, I heard that if it is not your first baby then your bump shows much quicker because your abdominal muscles know what they have to do, and they separate and stretch earlier on. Unless you have worked them out a lot!! As long as your measurements are the expected, I would not worry. Ask your midwife every time you go for the measurement of your bump, it is usually +/-2cm in relation to your number of weeks, so if you are 22 weeks, you could expect a 20cm-24cm bump (measured from pubic bone to top of uterus). My bump grew a lot between the 25 weeks and the 35weeks, now I do not see much difference, but it also depends of the position of the baby. I also thought I could not grow much more, but I was wrong! Lol I am amazed how big we get by the end of it.
LittleMoog, oooh, lovely name!! I cannot wait to read your story when you feel better!!!Thanks missbunbury for your birth story! It is comforting to read what other people have gone through, and to know that it is ok if birth does not go to plan, as it is the most common thing. It helps me to keep my mind open to any possibility and be flexible... which also reminds me that I should do my birth plan! Gosh... so much to do, so little time!!!
I went to the physio today at 8am in the morning, only to be told that my appointment was yesterday! I do not understand it, though. I added the appointment in my phone calendar as she gave it to me, and she definitely said Wednesday and not Tuesday, as yesterday I had a workshop booked at uni and I would not have been accepted that appointment. I explained that to them and they kind of looked at me like "yeah, right, sure" and said "oh, well, probably it's baby brain"... can you believe it?!! I think she said Wednesday thinking the 27th was Wednesday, we never said the number out loud, just the day of the week, so I put it down as Wednesday and she might have put it down as the 27th. Either way, I still have pain and my next appointment is on the 5th, 3 days before the EDD. Argh... I am considering going to the acupuncture / massage place I have nearby my home, even though it is a bit pricey.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Oh, socks and shoes... I am wearing flat pumps at the moment despite the freezing cold because I cannot do laces or zips or even put socks on either. Yesterday I put on some flat boots on, it took me over near 5 minutes to put the sock on and the the boot, which has a zip on the side, it is not as if I had to do laces or anything. I had to ask DH for help to do the other one and also to get them out after getting back home. My legs and ankles are so swollen at the moment that although those were the widest boots (they used to be a bit too big for me), I had marks from the boot material all over my leg when I took them out! I feel like my whole bottom part is swollen, only 3% of my knickers feel comfortable at the moment because the seams keep hurting me despite being maternity and a bigger size. I have started to wear my DH's old undies to sleep because they are much comfier
He was going to throw them away a couple of months ago and I rescued them for that purpose, lol. He said I should but new maternity knickers but I do not see the point for a few weeks, the ones that fit me I use during the day.
Lol at the rolling in stages :rotfl:my DH said that I have started to do like a turtle on its back when I try to get out of bed, which is true!!! I need to hold onto the edge of the bed and help myself roll to that side a bit so I can put my legs down first, then I push against the headboard to get up the rest... I guess if I didn't have this hip/pelvic pain maybe things would be easier, but oh well. Only a few more weeks to go!!Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

moneypenny21 wrote: »savage - I haven't been able to do socks for ages (not comfortably anyway!) and definitely need help with boots nowadays. The rolling in bed thing is also quite difficult and I have to do it in stages! How strange it will be to be able to just roll over in one go! Have you had any signs of anything starting to happen yet?
Not bothered as I don't think I'm ready yet anyway although I will probably get fed up with everyone asking for news soon! Besides, I have housework to do (and not, that's not nesting, just necessity!!)
Not seen any plug at all, no twinges, I did have a moment two weeks ago where I thought my waters had started to go but must have been something else(still no idea what as I'd literally just been to the loo, didn't smell like anything, etc, gotta love being pregnant eh?). Also had one or two uncomfortable evenings (about a week ago now!) where baby had been sitting funny and I think punching around my cervix so almost like period pains but they didn't last or feel strong or anything so I think it was just baby moving about.

Oh, and as for the rolling over, I don't like rolling onto my back anymore so I get up onto my hands and knees and roll that way!0

Nesting or not, my house is still a mess lol. I will try to rest later but I honestly don't think it'll do much other than make me sleep less tonight.
Poor Marta. Can't believe they blamed baby brain! When you do your bag, will you finish mine for me?
I've realised that I have no bedding for the moses basket! GAH!!!0 -
Bamama, lol, at some point we have to clean, don't we ? Yesterday he took my DD for a sleepover at his parents house, she loved it, he said to give me time alone... so funny tho, when i am alone i dont want to be alone, when i have to see people i dont want to see people.
my cot was delivered yesterday and i really want to put it up, i don't know if it is a clever thing to do for me but i really want to have a go, i might wait and ask my FIL.
Ohh Marta, i dont know, the sooner you get everything done the more anxious and ready you become. I have my baby bag ready and my hospital bag almost finished. With DD i was 1 day late and it just happened suddenly.
Moneypenny, i can still get up in one go just that when i am almost there bump gets on the way and i remind myself why i shouldnt be doing this ! Turning is a different story, i feel very very heavy.
Pisces, i am much more smaller this time around, with DD i put on 14 kg ( i was v slim tho) this time around i put on 2.5 kg so far and some people dare to tell me that i look like 20 wks or that they look more pregnant than me...lol... I really dont know what it is, but before getting pregnant i was in going to the gym and doing a lot of abs exercises to tighten the area.

I've not struggled with shoes and socks. All good so long as I sit to do my socks. Not had any swelling that I've noticed. I do have stretch marks on my calves though!?
As for rolling over, I don't think I sleep long enough to try any more. My turning is done in a huff from the annoyance at being awake so it could just be that XD0 -
Nearly 2 stone here. I'm not as "flabby" as I thought I'd be. Good sign that I can snap back? Lol.0

I have seen some women really really big in pregnancy and then quite small in a few weeks ! My case was crap, it took me 5 years to be nearer my normal weight as i never dieted before and i was not going to start now( i mean after my 1st prenancy was over and years after). i love my food too much for that I just dont feel hungry since the start of the pregnancy, this child is just not into food ... tho when i go for a walk a bit later i will get some chocolate to treat her.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0
