I've never really been concerned with my weight. Not until I tried to drop a course in college when I was 17/18 and my head of year asked if I was anorexic! Really should have brought that up with another of the heads but I was just too insulted at the time.

Then we had a blood donation day and I was told I couldn't donate because I was only 6 1/2 stone and they require you to be at least 8. Took me until I was 21/22 to get to 8 stone!!!

I've put 18Kg and counting (2.8st)... not too worried, though. I lost a stone and a half before through calorie counting in a 7 month period (I did it slowly so I could still eat cake, lol). I assume baby + placenta + amniotic liquid + liquid retention might account at least for a stone, and I intend to breastfeed, which will help me to lose weight anyway. I was a lazy cow just before the pregnancy, couch potato with the laptop on one side and the remote controller in the other, so the work of looking after the baby and taking her outside for short walks will also burn calories. I cannot believe I've put so much weight, though.

Can I get away with buying some cheap double bed flat sheets and cutting them down for the moses basket? Iron on hem the edges?

Thanks CL :) feel like a right muppet when it comes to things like this. Some things you can pick up easily, common knowledge and stuff, but where's the person who's supposed to tell you what blankets/sheets/nappies/formula to buy!? ><

Bamama - I use a pillowcase for my moses baskets. No untucking that way either, Just an idea, its what I have always used. Even more MSE if you already have one spare.

Unfortunately, no spares. I have two sets for my king size bedding that I alternate :)
