    Morning ladies :)

Still no baby here, was contracting from 7pm, went to hospital to be checked.at 3am and no real change in cervix since sweep. MW said I was still in early labour, and sent me home with codeine to get some sleep. Managed a few hours of dozing between contractions and they've tailed off a bit. Getting up now and going to keep moving to see if we can get them started again. In for induction tomorrow morning if no action today.

Aida - I had discharge that looked more like snot than normal discharge. Didn't think much of it as it was such a small amount. Maybe I should check a bit more often.
And swabs... bit different. I'll be 36+6 at my next appointment so I'm hoping the MW might tell me some more useful stuff.

Queen_B... I don't think Rups will be up any time soon! Lady of leisure now. Like me XD

Moog! What a stubborn baby. Glad things are progressing though, you must have the patience of a saint! *hugs*

Rant. I went to LaRedoute online over the weekend looking for a bath towelling robe, which I put in the basket. However, it did not accept my discount for first order, despite being full price, so I did not complete the order and left the site without adding any payment details or anything because Tesco have some at the price I was willing to pay. A few hours later I received an email saying "there is time to complete your order" blahblahblah, which I do not do. This morning I receive an email saying "thank you for applying for our credit account, which has been approved, your order will be processed" WTH!!! They have opened a £200 credit account but I have not applied for it, this is something you can do when you make your order, but I never completed the order and I never signed that agreement!! I went to see the account and the robe is still in the basket, which I now removed, and there are no orders being processed, outstanding or recent, so basically they have opened an account with no order and I have not asked for it. I do not know what to do, I have no need for this account but they have already done the credit check (and passed it)... so cancelling it, will do nothing. It is only a £200 credit, with which I could order, try and send back before deciding what to buy, paying only what I keep... but the point is that I have not applied for it! On the one hand, I say "well, why not?, just keep it, it might come useful when and if I start ordering baby clothes", on the other hand, I say "what the heck! why have they done this without my permission?". I feel like I should rant at them, but at the same time, do I want it cancel now it is open? Would that change anything? Probably not... argh... *confused and annoyed*

I do not think I have seen any plug other than shortly after conception, when it prompted me to test because I had never seen some discharge like that. I had what for me was a light period in the expected day, lasting almost 3 days and requiring pads the first day, so those who say that "implantation bleeding is light spotting only" certainly had not seen mine. When I explained it to the GP, she told me not to keep my hopes high because it was unlikely that I was pregnant with that kind of bleeding... yet here we are!!

LittleMoog, so what we can say for sure is that OH will be able to collect the car on Friday because he will be on paternity leave!! :D It is exciting to know you will be holding the baby that was kicking you in a matter of hours (whether 10h or 40h, still only hours). You can always try massage and acupuncture today, some say it works :)

    Team Blue!!!!

20 week scan this morning - everything appears ok! But have to go back as baby was lying with his back to us and refused to move. They need to check the face -but she was not too concerned as this is my 6th scan and he has faced the screen occasionally. All of my babies have all been laying like this and I have had to go back for a second scan! Not an awkward family at all!!

It was weird finding out the sex - I never did with any of the other 3 - but when she spun the screen round that bit was very clear!!!

They could not see any of the bleeds, so am going to try and relax now and enjoy (SPD and sickness permitting) the rest of this pregnancy :) Bought my first item in Tesco on the way home - a navy blue babygro with Mickey Mouse on the front - my 2 littlest are obsessed with Mickey Mouse at the moment, so couldn't resist :)

Morocha - big hugs. Mine was a very different situation, but I split with my eldest DS's (now 14) dad when I found out I was pregnant at 8 weeks. You sound like a strong lady and am sure you will decide what is best for you and baby. And you will cope whatever you decide.

Martafdz - I spoke to Uni after the last bit of advice you gave me and they are going to play it by ear - I am just to text when I have had the baby (I do very quick labours so they will get no prior warning!) and they will decide if it is best to put in an extension or " a break in study" form. I was worried that this would mean it would take longer for me to finish my MA, but they have assured me not. So thanks for raising those issues - I am sorted now!!

No advice on the plug here despite having had 3 children already :o
None of my babies engaged nor did I lose my plug with any of them except number one but this was at 28 weeks and it appeared to "grow" back with no other issues. :D

Good luck to all those near to meeting their babies!!!!! Soooo exciting ( and I am still as excited even though this is number 4 - nothing comes close to the feeling of having a newborn baby!!!!)

  • Hi all,

Just a quick one and a bit of an apology as I've been rubbish at posting since going on maternity leave...

I did a bit of a queue jump and had baby Juliet at 10.30 on Weds 21st November weighing 7lb 3oz - I was induced as my blood pressure had been creeping up and I had protein in my urine. I'll do a proper birth story at some point soon, but in short it was actually all quite a positive experience despite not being exactly how I'd wanted it, epidurals are amazing and induction doesn't always take days and days!

Hope you're all well, hurry up boldy babies!

    Congrats sa-ra-ra-ra!!!

Chonorla, that is great. You can still do your work as planned, if you finish it in time and you are ready to submit it, just cancel the break if you have one, or submit it before the new deadline if you had an extension. It just gives you peace of mind to know that if you haven't got the time, for whatever reason, you have extra time to do your coursework. :D

yay on team blue chonorla. :)) see how you you feel about your work. :)

morocha i hope you are having a better day today. you def are a very strong lady and i admire that in you. like you said you seem like you are doing all the stuff yourself anyway. think of you and your babys happiness.

as for me, i had a bad nights sleep and also disturbed DH. poor thing is so tired today. he had to bring his laptop home and is working downstairs. i decided to go into the high street to get some stuff from boots and also wanted to go into debenhams for some bras. well, just waiting around for the bus, and then going into boots killed me, as there were so many people everywhere. :( managed to get the free changing bag and then as left boots some rude git pushed me and i shouted at him, and he didnt even look round. bast-rd. i ended up feeling upset at that.

then went into debenhams, and chose a pair of leggings and returned a baby sleeping bag that some of my friends had got me, as i have 3 now and decided i can get something else, so walked to get a nice snow suit type thing for baby to bring him/her home in and i felt so tired and sore back. i had to go sit down and eat and after that i just wanted to come home. missions and walking to the bus stop etc i got home and just came and sat into bed feel exhausted. bless dh just brought me some tea and i am on here. feel pooped. feel bad as was in debenhams and could have got my bras but already with 2 bags i was just annoyed, hot and in pain.
