Marta as least you had a hospital tour. We couldn't book one as my hospital doesn't do them any more!!!

Hospital bag: Why do we have to pack a hat for the baby? Is it for the moment we go home or they have to wear them in hospital?

I think I remember reading that in the first 24-36 hours babies aren't very good at regulating their body temperature, and a hat helps with this. After you get home they shouldn't wear a hat inside though, as they can overheat and need to be able to lose heat through their heads.

When do the midwives start telling you if the baby is starting to engage and how heavy the predict the baby will be?

None of them have really told me much other than my bump is a good size and Squirmy has a strong heartbeat.

My hospital does tours without booking every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm,you just turn up. The first time we went there were only about other 6 couples and the ward was quiet, we got to see a delivery roommate, an empty ward, and the birth pool among other things. This time we saw one delivery room and the entrances/exits. But at least now I know where to go!! I had forgotten pretty much everything, I went when I was 15 weeks or so!!

Bamama. I think I was told that.she was head down at around 34 weeks, since then, every time I go they say something about her head. The notes also say "engaged", I always ask which way she is facing and all that when I go.

They told me Squirmy was head down at 32 and Friday at 35. They both wrote "ceph" under the presentation. Dunno what that means?

Edit: googled it. Apparently just means head down.

Ceph stands for cephalic which means head down.
