I'm probably about the same size as you marta, and I'm currently wearing nursing bras anyway (I needed new for pregnancy and figured rather than just buy 'maternity' bras I might as well buy 'nursing' bras). I've got three: one is a all size fits type of thing, which while not hugely supportive is OK for me (and if I leak post baby then will need to sleep with a bra on, and this will do brilliantly - and at £10 I was not bothered too much!); the other two are more like my normal bras (I never wear underwire as it always digs in) but as they're nursing bras they have more room in the back for adjusting and one of them also has adjustable cups (!) which I thought made sense. I bought all of these from Bras4Mums who have free returns and exchanges.
This is the adjustable cup one (which I liked the look of as well, and have worn an awful lot already - I bought the pads to fit into it too even though they were pretty expensive) http://www.bras4mums.co.uk/lorna-drew-astrid-nursing-bra-4047-p.asp
I have this one too http://www.bras4mums.co.uk/breastfeeding-bras-for-sleeping-53-c.asp although I bought it on sale for cheaper than that, and the stretchy one is this http://www.bras4mums.co.uk/emma-jane-seamless-nursing-bra-361-3231-p.asp0 -
I never knew any of that, Littlemoog, thank you very much! I have had that problem of the band pulling up, I never knew what the problem was! I think I should buy a 36, then. The 38 feels quite big even in the tighter hoop. On the cup, I have more problems, the D feels loose, I feel there is too much room, whereas the C feels just right. I have been wearing sport bras throughout the whole pregnancy because I felt the support was much better, specially with the cross back and the thick straps, at the end of the day they are designed to keep your breasts in place during exercise, so I guess they do offer good support. However, I really want to go back to normal bras for the day, it is difficult to hide this kind of bra with some clothing and I cannot use them anyway for nursing. I will probably still sleep with them, even if the only way to get the breast out is pulling the thing up, it is not a problem at home in the middle of the night... but I wouldn't do it out and about lol!Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Moog - pulling up at the back could just mean you need to loosen your shoulder straps. My boobs definitely weren't "weighty" enough to pull the back strap.
I have no idea where I'm going to go for bras the only places I know that measure are Marks and Mothercare. Unless I go to Cardiff... which I hate at the best of times. Swansea has a Debenham's but it's pretty useless.0 -
Oh, thanks savage!! I am looking at that site now, I like that black one a lot, looks very supportive.
Thank you!!

True - but I'd argue that for a good fit your back band should be tight enough that the straps can't make it ride up too far. it's the classic sign of a too large band size, as people overtighten the straps to compensate for the lack of support in the band. The straps should be adjusted to give a nice fit at the top of the cup without cutting in to the shoulder
I really would steer clear of marks and mothercare, I've heard nothing but bad things about their fittingsif your local NCT doesn't have a fitting consultant, check out local independent lingerie shops, or ask your midwife about breastfeeding clinics etc as they may also have a bra fitting expert.

I've always worn a smaller back size than I've been measured at. Mainly because they always fitted better. I don't fit in them now... the cups don't reach the outside of my boobs XD that's when I knew I had to go looking for new bras.
My mother made me try on one of hers... which she said would probably fit. I looked at her stupid because I was wearing 32A and just about filling them pre-pregnancy and the one she gave me was a 34C! It's now become my every day brathink I'm going to grow out of it too. Think my best bet is to go and try on as many as possible to find a fit lol.

Quick question. My bump is solid with two lumpy bits under my ribs... is this just the baby lying sideways with it's back across my bump?0
-
Probably not Bamama - if baby is lying the 'right' way you'll end up with a bum under your ribs (lumpy bit) and probably a knee / foot / elbow on the other side. (lumpy too but much smaller and usually harder)
Are both lumpy bits pretty big?0 -

Measuring tapes can only give a guide to what size you should be wearing, it varies so much depending on the bra style and make etc! Bravissimo don't use tapes at all, but look at what you're wearing and judge by eye. It is a real shame they don't do the smaller cup sizesLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Same size. I can cup my hands over them. Too big for feet.0
