Hi ladies, hope you're all well and enjoying your pregnancies.
Massive congrats to those who are now mummies since I last posted and labour vibes to all those at or past their due dates!
My posting has been frustratingly infrequent but now I'm on annual leave prior to my mat leave starting & we're in our new house albeit surrounded by boxes I hope to get on much more for the next few weeks as love to keep up with how everyone's doing, pick up on top tips & also actually converse with other pregnant ladies as although friends and family have been really supportive I'd love to have someone going through the same 'in the real world' if that makes sense.
No dramas here, baby is head down although still 'floating' as my midwife put it which came as no surprise as she spends most of the time with her lil backside wedged firmly in my ribs :rotfl: finishing work on Thursday was oddly emotional & despite having an enormous bump it actually made it all real and smashed home I'm about to become a mum lol.
Anyways, enough rambling from me you'll be fed up & wish me back into relative obscurity soon lol x0 -
Bedding: we're planning on trying swaddling and/or sleeping bags. I've ordered a sleeping bag suitable from newborn so will see how we get on with that, then have another which is claiming '0-6 months' but as LittleMoog said it's supposed to be after they can't slip down inside it. We do also have a blanket though which we could use, it came as part of the bedding set we got for our moses basket (and we have another which came with our cot bedding set); I figure we could use it even if baby doesn't sleep in it for extra warmth while out and about or generally being wrapped up in.0

LittleMoog and savageHK thanks for replying. I should buy a cellular blanket plus a swaddling bag for start and once I'll see how big it is, I can buy a growbag.
DayDreamBeliever :T for finishing work just enjoy yourfree time. Hope you'll get time to rest before you're baby is here.

I have just asked this in the newborn thread, but just in case some of you have also some advice, this is what I posted there: "I went to Mothercare to buy some breastfeeding/nursery bras but I found they did not fit me well!!
I am currently a 36C with a month to go, what size should I buy? Where did you find your bras? Any recommendation? "
I want to finish my hospital bag, I just need the bras and some pyjamas, the rest I cannot put until later on (phone, charger, contact lenses, etc).
I went to Boots today, this weekend they have triple points if you spend £30 in store (or £60 online), plus it is the last weekend for baby event, so I bought the Arnica bath soak that sexymouse recommended, more Palmer's cream, cotton wool pads, a pack of baby towels and a bouncer
It had good reviews, £32. With all the rest, the extra points for the baby club and baby event, plus the triple points, I got 1000 points for today, £10 earnt in one transaction! I could not use my voucher of 500 points for £50 spent on top, I was being greedy, lol. I will try to buy Christmas presents and add that one on top.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

I think the recommendation is to get measured at 38 weeks for nursing bras Marta. I personally went up up a back size and a cup size from my pre-pregnancy size but preferred Debenhams for nursing bras.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0

Marta does your local NCT group run a bumps & babes coffee morning or anything? They often have a nursing bra specialist and you don't need to be a member to go along. I bought some bras in mothercare and the were a terrible fit, even though they were close to the size I ended up getting in Bravissimo - they were just a poor non-supportive designLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

 I was a 34B-36B before pregnancy, now I am wearing 36C-38C. Aish, I really wanted to get everything done, I do not fancy going around the shops at 38 weeks to get myself measured! I went shopping today and I decided that any extra shopping before labour will be done online! Lol, I hated it! I was thinking that I could just "guess" :doh:and either stay in a 36C, go for an extra cup at 36D or extra contour at 38C.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Littlemoog, I am afraid I have not got a clue, I did not contact the NCT because my "local group" was not very "local" to me, so I am just going to the NHS parentcraft instead, which was around the corner. I will have a look, just in case.
I will check that "Bravissimo" and Debenhams, I could not believe how badly fitted the Mothercare were, at least in my case. They did not support them, and I do not have big boobs, plus they were a bit too low and looked as if I had shaggy breast even though I don't (yet).Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

I got fitted at about 36 weeks - your back size should stay the same or decrease now, as when the baby drops your ribs will settle back to normal. So whatever bra you buy should fit you on the loosest hooks now to allow for that. By fit I mean that you should be able to slide 2 fingers under the band against your ribs and be able to slide from side to side fairly easily. The girl at Bravissimo told me there should be enough give in the cups to easily slide your hand inside, but that it shouldn't gape away from your skin. You could try getting fitted somewhere else, I think Debenhams are supposed to be good and stock decent brands of nursing bras, but I'd steerclear of M&S or mothercare. Sadly Bravissimo only start at a D cup, or I'd recommend them, so many people wear the wrong size bra, mostly because the high street stores are so woeful at fitting properly.

I would bet that your back size is too big (and therefore cup size too small) as it's the most common mistake. Bra bands should be relatively tight against your skin, as they do most of the work of supporting your boobs. If you can just put 2 fingers flat against your ribs under your armpit and slide back and forward, that's about right. For context I'm a size 16 on top, and wear a 36g (36ff before pg), but was fitted by M&S as a 40/42DD for years before I found Bravissimo! Getting properly fitted changed my shape completely, and lifted my boobs by about 4.inches!
Edit: another way to check your back size is correct to look in a mirror - is it parallel all the way round (correct), or pulling up at the back (too big, and being pulled forward by the straps taking all the weight of your boobs)Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
