yay cake.. congrats to you.. xx hope you are all well. lovely names. :) hope you can also go home quickly. enjoy your cuddles. xxx

just back from midwife. took ages as was waiting around. she was on the phone before she saw me, as could hear her. then when i went in, ithought i am not lettng her rush me out without me asking stuff. :) i asked her if she was able to tell me about the baby's position. she said it was early but she checked and said baby is head down.

also when she first saw me, she said i was big and whether i am having twins? cow!!! lol. i said no and that everyone asks me that. then when she measured me, she said i was fine for 33 weeks. i think she said i measure 34cm. is that normal? then when she put the doppler on my belly, baby kicked it. good. lol. nah she was ok and of the many different midwives i have seen. never been the same one.

i asked her about me getting heart palpitations and she said having too many are not normal so should ring labour ward next time. came home and wanted some toast and managed to stab my belly with some frozen bread!! i am so damn clumsy..am tired now. wanted to go to boots to have a look around at 5 but am already feeling lazy lol.

  • I think the rule of thumb is 2cm +/- your number of weeks, so at 33 weeks anywhere from 31cm-35cm is fine.

I might have to get Chinese tonight too Rups! I blame you putting the thought in my head.

rups 1cm is nothing so you can't be that big as its within normal range
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

  • I am now officially full term! Can't believe I've made it to twelfth on the list! Glad to hear about all the latest arrivals.

I had good news from my midwife today, my iron levels are now normal after a month on the pills, was hoping she might say to stop taking them cos they are *ahem* unpleasant in terms of side effects (!) but she said to keep going with them anyway.

I'm still working and will be until the 16th so ten days before my due date. I'll be honest, as others have said I am finding it hard going to concentrate at work these days but I really don't want to get to the end of my year off and wish I had stuck it out a few more weeks now, so I am soldiering on. This week I have made a concession to myself though - am getting quite sore in the pelvis these days if I do much walking so now instead of parking two miles from work and walking into town, we have started parking in the multistorey, managed to get a discount card so it's £4.50 for the day which isn't too bad.

Having said that, we are skint at the moment after spending five hundred quid on the car this month! I demanded OH get it fully serviced so that I don't have to worry about whether it's safe for the baby! Glad we've done it though, the brakes etc are all nice and tight and sharp and so on. I am about to start driving it myself too, been having lessons for nearly 3 months now so think I am ready for a non-dual-pedals car which is exciting.

To all those whose hospital bags aren't quite done - me too! I've got the absolute essentials like nappies and clothes for me and baby to go home in but still have some bits to get like breast pads. Also, what food is everyone planning to take with them? I am thinking cereal bars and sweets mainly.

Some of you will remember I mentioned recently that my friend had her baby a couple of weeks back at 28 weeks due to complications - just a quick update, her little boy is doing well and getting stronger every day so everything's looking good there, thankfully.
