Banama let me know what the say - I am also asthmatic although I've not had an attack since I was a child and only seem to repsond now if something triggers me off (and then the ventolin calms everything down). No one has mentioned it so far to me though so I imagine it is fine (unless you end up being allergic to gax and air?). I've had g&a before at the dentist with no ill effects so should be fine.
Cake - good luck!0 -
...afm... hubby overseas at a wedding this weekend (too far along for me to go with - don't want to fly even if they'd let me, and train would take days - not the greatest if you could go into labour in a foreign country!). So this morning - I think because it was cold last night - our boiler went into anti-frost mode and circulated the water in the radiators (we've not had the heating on yet). We've only moved into this house earlier this year so are busy decorating one room now, proper strip down and plaster removal - the works. Hubby took the radiator off the wall a good two weeks back, this morning after my shower I discover that the one pipe is leaking! Luckily over our porch so not as bad as it could be (lovely puddle in the porch) - had to dash off to a plumbing supplies shop and found a cap to screw onto the end of the pipe. Then repressurise the system... what fun. Seems to be working now!
I'm also busy washing all the clothes we've got (baby being engaged freaked me out a bit - what if it's early!?!) - I can't believe the difference in sizing between things labelled '0-3' months. One thing looks tiny - newborn perhaps - another looks like it could fit a toddler. I'm not kidding. Anyway, got the first load in the machine and in the sun this morning but sun seems to have vanished now. As for those asking whether to wash new clothes, my machine actually has a 'first wash' setting specially for new clothes so I guess it's a good idea. We also seem to have too many clothes, but I'll need to sort through them once they're dry and see if we've got far too many (say) sleepsuits but no vests or something (and I'll also need to put them in size order!!).0 -

We have some newborn/up to 1 month sleepsuits that are all supposed to fit up to 10lbs but when I was putting them away I noticed that one brand was about 2" longer than the other in the legs and arms!
I've washed everything in the laundry products we normally use - brand new things can have stuff applied to keep them neat in the packets etc, and I'm allergic to lots of washing powders so wanted everything 2nd hand washed in our normal products. Then if baby reacts to the clothes I know it's our stuff so I can change it right away!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Been busy round the house this morning, DH has finally put the blind up in Beanie's room and put all his tools away so we've been sorting out in there and it's all ready for them now
just need to get an extension cord to plug the lamp in and buy an underbed storage box for the sheets.
Busy weekend for us, still lots of organising to do in the rest of the house today and then we're out for dinner with the boys (DH's schoolfriends and their wives/gfs!). More sorting tomorrow, and then we're going to one of my sister's for Sunday lunch and a walk if the weather is niceat least we get an extra hour in bed in the morning, so I might even make it to Mass for a change!
We went to see the new Bond last night, it was really goodLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Ladies! I'm gatecrashing the thread! My waters broke at 1.30am this morning, rung triage and was told to ring back 2 hours later as it's probably just a build of discharge!!?? Erm, noo, love, it's WATER, told to ring back and see if I soak through a sanitary towel, soaked through 2 maternity towels in that space and lots of period pains, tried timing them but not regular at all. Rung back at 3.30 and she said its fine to leave it to go in until later so went in at 9am, CTG wacked on the belly, speculum inserted  and left for an hour, we were watching the CTG readout and it was showing contractions every 4 minutes, but I was only feeling every 12 minutes if that? Midwife sent me home to work through it at home, and to return tomorrow at 10am for induction if nothing happens. Got home, done the housework, now watching the VMA's with not much really happening.
Sorry for not catching up on posts, just had to tell you all!
P.S- My waters have NOT stopped, if I lay down as soon as I stand up they gush again, it's like they've grown back or something!!??:wall:0 -
Ooh exciting Cherrydrop! Hope it all kicks off properly today! I think the baby's head can act as a plug so the waters leak over several hours. Big pain-free labour vibes heading your wayLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Hope everyone else is well and labour vibes to all the boldies.
Has anyone seen those swimming skirts? I am hoping to have a water birth and sports direct are selling them for under £5 in the sale. Has anyone else thought of getting one or something similar? Or do you think they will be a waste of time?

Cupcake I wore a swim sarong for part of my labour, and it did make me feel psychologically less exposed. It did become a bit of a pain when I had to get out though or use the toilet, as it fell down a bit due to the weight of the water, and also made me a bit cold as it was obviously dripping wet. You may be better off getting a really long tankini.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170
