Things about this tray of rocky road - it's for visitors she has this afternoon and Dad and I are under strict instructions not to test it till she gets back - she knows full well the 2 of us would demolish it off!!!!

Afternoon ladies

I haven't had lunch yet and catching up with the thread has made me want a KFC. I will not go to the drive-thru, I will not go to the drive-thru........

Was supposed to be going to my eldest sister for lunch today but she's under the weather so we've postponed. Really hungry now, but the kitchen's full of last nights washing up that DH "forgot" to do before coming to bed. grr, pesky man!

He's taking me out on a date tonight though, so will forgive him, and do the washing up before he gets in. We're going to see the new Bond film and out for dinner, probably at Pizza Express, yum! I love going to the cinema, it always reminds me of our first date, to see Jurassic Park II and Pizza Hut afterwards when we were only 15! So long ago now :eek:

Rups, the others have given you some really good advice. I would say that it seems to me like your DH is out a lot, and staying out late on work nights (like when he woke you up the other day?), so it's not that surprising that he's tired and irritable. Did you used to both go out a lot before you were pg?

I do think maybe you need to have a discussion about how things will be once the baby arrives, as you'll need his support in the evenings after being at home alone all day. We did exercises about this at our NCT class, and then DH and I discussed them at home afterwards. We mostly socialise together anyway, as we have a large group of shared friends, but we've agreed on making sure that we each get to continue doing the things we enjoy after baby arrives, but with some compromises - eg, DH loves sailing, but he's agreed that he won't be going away every other weekend for races next summer, and when he does need to go for racing I'll make other plans for that weekend like staying with family so he doesn't have to worry about me. I really enjoy having friends over for dinner, but that will be tricky once Beanie is here, so we'll try and keep up with people by meeting for lunches etc, and have individual couples over rather than 8 people at once! Plus I'll change my Pilates class to one that's later in the evening so DH can get home in time to babysit while I go.

thanks honey. it def is like that where he feels he needs to see friends quickly like he will never see them. thing is the more i stop him the more distant he gets so have let him get on with it. just reminded him he needs to see me too. i told him that the other day and he said this weekend he will try which is why he wanted my friend out too. i will try and suggest more things and hopefully he will listen (minus the nagging). yest he did say i go on about doing stuff with him but i am tired, so have to choose a day where i am ok and even if tired, will still do it. like you i want to see the james bond film so i will try push for that.:) we did go out when we dated a lot mainly because we both lived with our parents etc and then we moved in and we did things separately too and also together. it has cut down a lot now. he will realise himself as he usually does. if i nag he doesnt want to then. like a stubborn child lol. so will take it slowly and easy i cant beleive yo uand your dh watched jurassic park!! wow..:) that is so sweet.. what are your secrets for keeping the peace? def good communication i agree but think dh struggles with that. hopefully the nct classes will help as yest the BF class woman said when women bf it gets lonely so partners must do their best to help too

am sleepy now. had a huge omlette and chips with lots of vinegar. yum..:) also brought back some home made little cakes for me, my friend and dh.

I'm not sure I've got any good tips Rups, we only argue very rarely, and when we do I end up apologising just to get rid of the atmosphere as I hate conflict we hardly ever disagree over anything big though, it's always something trivial. If we need to discuss something serious I try and find a time when we're not busy and switch the telly/Xbox off

i like that about apologising as i hate conflict too. sometimes i think that he is wrong so why should i? i guess one has to give in? lol. thanks honey.. working towards this positive mental attitude already. have been asking him how he is..

am eating again. am hungry lol but am trying to be good and having some pot fruit.
