  • Good luck CherryDrop, how exciting!

Before I forget, what prams/travel systems has everyone opted for? My Uppababy Vista arrived yesterday and I could not be more pleased with it so far. Has anyone else used I've of these? How does it fare in real life?
Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug). ;)

We're also getting one of these. Of people I know who use it, the report is always glowing. :D

We've got a silver cross linear freeway which we got from a friend of ours who was selling it after her little boy :) It's in pretty much perfect condition & we got the full travel system for £100 as opposed to the five or six times that it'd cost new. We're really pleased with it because we wanted a pram that had the ability to be a flat-bed because when we're out & about for long periods its better for Bean to be flat as opposed to curled up in the car seat for hours :)

I'm having on of those really sh*tty days where I'm just feeling quite down & wanting to eat constantly but have no idea what I want to eat. I don't really know why I'm feeling down either, other than DH was called into work early :( He's working so hard at the moment & I do worry he's going to make himself ill sometimes although I completely understand (and appreciate!) that he's doing it because he wants to look after his wife & Bean who's on the way :) I guess I'm just having one of those days. I'm going to catch up on some tv & eat my way through the entire house I think :)

Random question...does anyone else worry about having sex & the possibility of it causing problems? We had a scare at around 7-8wks but nothing ever came of it or was explained as a reason behind it. I don't worry that Bean will get hurt when we have sex but I worry about it causing things like early labour :(

Sorry for putting a bit of a downer of things, I hope everyone else is having a good day! Good luck to cherrydrop & all those having their little ones today, it must be sooooo exciting. Labour vibes & cuddles to those who need them.

  • We've bought a quinny buzz 3. Got it as a travel system on offer through bounty with previous little ones. Managed to find a discount code online too... So got the push chair, the carrycot, the accessories (rain cover and cosy toes) and the maxi cosy car seat for £474! I've played about with it and love it. 2 of my friends have got quinny's and they would recommend them x
  • Mrs B, sorry you are feeling down. I have days like that to.. Just can't put your finger on what's making you feel like it, but can't shake it off either. Just enjoy a lazy day in the sofa and give into the hormones... You'll probably feel differently tomorrow.

As for sex... We've not had it for a while, not because I'm worried... We just haven't! I must admit I had never even considered it causing problems, but if you did have a scare I can understand your apprehension. X

I typed a big long message this morning... and then my phone died before it loaded :(

I've been awfully naughty today. I was woken up at nearly 8 (new 8) by OH telling me to stay in bed but he was getting up because he couldn't sleep properly. He didn't come wake me again until 12! Then we had to go out and get some shopping done. Christmas prezzies and food shopping. Only just managed to sit down and eat! Very bad!!!

So now I'm alone as OH has gone to the pub with his father to watch the football. Thankfully it's on Sky so he couldn't watch it in the house :) Might go up my dad's for a bit.

I've got a hand-me-down travel system. Actually got hand-me-down everything! Only things I've bought are... some baby "whites", nappies and wipes, other disposables and... a cotbed and mattress. But my mother bought the actual cotbed, my father bought me my harness. Oh and I bought a carseat cover from rubyandginger... £15 in the flash sale :) Think I've probably only spent £100 myself. Lucky I've got such an amazing family :)

Mrs. B, we all have those down days. Do what ever you wanna do and munch everything in the house! And with the sex stuff... ano it must be hard if you had a scare but you should be fine. In fact it's good for you. So get to it! :P

elisabeth854...I've given in to the hormones, I'm having a sofa day & then I think I'll get myself an early night in bed with Bean & the furries because I get the feeling DH will be very late getting back from work :( It is difficult having had the scare & it doesn't help that it's quite uncomfortable with bump, backache & hipache too :( Quite frustrating because I very much enjoyed the healthy sex life we've always had!

Bamama...Glad to hear it's not just me who's got quite a few hand-me-downs! Some people have given us the impression they think we should be buying everything new seen as it's our first baby but when we've been offered things in such good condition for little or no cost then I don't see the point in turning them down! I've definitely given in & I'm having a lazy, munchy day :) As for getting to it...I'm sure I'll feel better about things soon, I've definitely felt better since v-day so I'm imagining the the further on I get, the more confident I'll feel that everything will be ok, even if Bean was to put in an early appearance!

I have s petite star z4x or something like that. It is a very light pram and carseat with rain cover, it was originally at Boots and Argos for £250, but got the one on display at Boots for £60 when they were selling the whole stock to make room for the Christmas shelving. Very light, it has also a flat position and it moves very easily. You can make it do a 360 almost with a hand and no effort. It is also black with some polka dot fabric, so very neutral, which is what we wanted, just in case the future 2nd child.is a boy. I am very happy with it because I do not plan to use it much, because I will try to use more the carrier. Therefore I wanted one that could be easy to fold, very light and that I could move with ease considering I am a bit clumsy!! This one is just right for us.

I need to do the hospital bag, 34 week's and I have not got it ready!!! I do have most of the stuff, though.

I have eaten a lot this week. I do not seem to stop being hungry! So far, I had 2small croissants with strawberry jam for breakfast at 9am. At 11am I had two crumpets with plum jam. At 1pm I had a Cornish pasty and a bag of ready salted crisps. I slept from 3pm to 5pm, I have just had a big glass of orange juice and for tea we are.having cod fillets with steamed mixed vegetables and rice, to which I will probably add salad cream or mayonnaise. I have rested the whole day after having a bad.night sleep. My DH has been cooking it all and doing the laundry and dishwasher. Oh. I also had a bag of fridge raiders just before falling sleep. I feel much better now, this morning I was feeling rubbish!! All the tlc I had today, I think :) DH

So now I am waiting for tea, but I think I will later have a nice thick hot chocolate and more crumpets!!

I tried the gym ball, I just sit on it and move in circles or bounce a bit. Any good pregnancy exercises that you know? DH has been kicking it gently around as part of his exercise lol

Has anyone got a bath radio that can recommend?

Mrs_b, we have not bought much and it is also our first, in fact, the first in the family I cannot afford it and the baby will not know if the room has coordinating colours or if her clothes are second hand, but I will be able to use the money I am saving now for important stuff later on, like childcare or a baby processor to make good food from scratch, or even quality time together as a family with days out. When I look back, the things that stand out in my memory are always events and "the day we went to...", never the bedroom I had or the wardrobe clothes. I am not spending silly money.in material stuff that I cannot afford. I have an old set.of drawers for her clothes, a desk as changing area and a moses we got as a gift. We will buy the cotbed in the sales, but we were given the money for it too. All the clothes are gifts or second hand, we only bought some outdoor stuff yesterday ut spent under £25 on it for two snow suits.
