LadyM if they're not too worried it should all be fine. I've put on way more than you (weighed myself today for the first time) but I looked at the breakdown of what they expect you to put on and one of the things was 4.4kgs of fat (!) as well as something for breasts (and I seem to recall your breasts hadn't grown much?). You probably just have a different metabolism. I certainly have fatter thighs and butt than I did before which will go some way towards the weight gain. Babies are supposed to be efficient at stealing any nutrition they need so I wouldn't worry too much as long as you are eating normally.

If they're happy with baby's weight I wouldn't worry, I think the weight gain guidelines are quite vague, I've only gained 5lb in total, but whenever I ask anyone about it they say it's fine. Nearly 5lb sounds like a healthy weight for 34 weeks to me, I think they put on around half a pound a week in the last few weeks, so could end up as nearly 8lb at full term.

Thank you. I just worry alot.:o I want baby to be as healthy as possible and always worry. Gosh, what am I going to be like when he's here?!

Hey LadyMorticia. Don't know much about your experience so far but... don't worry too much about your weight. If they were concerned then they'd say something. One of our ladies (I forget who) only gained a pound more than her baby weighed (if memory serves me correctly).

As for the TMI, what do you mean by horrendous? I had bad thrush early on. No itching/pain/smell... just a lovely cottage cheese effect (yep TMI). Doctor gave me a pessary and cream. Pessary worked a treat and cream was handy as OH could also use it after sex to stop us re-infecting each other.

    Thanks hun.

Well, it's kind of...yellow and thick-ish? I meant to mention it at my consultant appointment today but was so pre-occupied with the caesarean thing that I completely forgot. It kind of smells acidic too. I'm having to wear pads as sometimes there's so much of it and I get itchy down there on and off. I'm going to phone my midwife to talk to her about it as it's a bit unnerving!

Thank you. As I said, I just worry alot.:o I don't think my breasts have grown at all! I need to get some comfy maternity bras but I can't find any in my size. :(

Also, when I had my urine sample dipsticked today, the nurse said that I had glucose in my urine. I've had a trace in my urine a couple of times so was expecting it to be another trace but in my notes she's written G+++.

For breakfast I had a Munch Bunch yogurt, a reduced fat raisin and biscuit bar and a cup of tea with one and a half sugars in but not sure if that's enough to cause my glucose to go that high as I've eaten more sugary things for breakfast before and still ended up with only a trace.

I'm not sure if the full blood count includes a glucose blood test. It wasn't really explained to me what the full blood count was for so I just presumed it was to check on my anaemia.

Just nip to your GP darling. Deffo sounds like thrush to me. Very common in pregnancy too. No icky examination either btw... they just tell you to give it a go. Pessary can be a bit rank as it makes everything chalky for a couple of days but cleared mine right up.

My booblas don't seem that much bigger to me. Still no cleavage but I've actually gone from a 32a - 34c. Go somewhere decent and get measured up. Most places advise waiting until 36 weeks to get a maternitt bra that should still be comfortable :)

Thanks for the advice hun. Just a bit disconcerting! Pregnancy isn't as glamorous as some people think it is.:rotfl:

I'm a 32A, hence finding it hard to find bras! Would love my boobs to grow. Would be nice to have a little something more uptop just to know what it feels like! :rotfl:

Np sweetheart :) that's what this place is about right?

FYI, normal blood tests just check your red + white blood count. Size and shape and blah blah. It's just your general health.

I was under the impression that urine samples needed to be "the first pee of the day" so it wasn't affected by food and what not. Correct me if I'm wrong ladies. I'd perhaps ask about that. They'd mention anything that concerns them anyway.

A full blood count doesn't include blood sugars (glucose). It includes red blood cell count, white blood cell count, haemoglobin, platelets and some other stuff.
