I think that's the first time I've ever seen the list with no boldies on it! Just for today though, as izzydogsam will be a boldie tomorrow! Looks like we might have a quiet spell for the next few weeks though, unless we get some early bubbas! (fingers crossed not me, I have too much to get on with in the mean time!)

Just back from swimming, managed 20 lengths but I was really out of puff today. I find swimming really hard work now, my bump pulls me down in the water when I was used to being really buoyant due to my fat belly before! :rotfl: Resisted the cafe, and stopping at the amazing bakery/cafe we went to yesterday for takeaway cake on the way home, as it's right by the pool! Wish I hadn't now though, I could just fancy a bit of cake *eats fruit and yoghurt and sulks*

wrt bank holidays, I don't get them added to my leave entitlement, as our enhanced maternity pay is full pay, and so we've already been paid for those days, iyswim? It's very clearly spelled out in our maternity policy though - ask your HR to see a copy of your policy, they should supply one that covers all of this. We do get all our normal annual leave to take when we go back (or can take it before depending on ML start date and holiday year etc)

Holidays don't count towards ML... all holidays are taken outside of your ML... no matter what enhancements they have in place.

well i was bad and went and got a McDonalds. dont judge me please? i got a fish meal (fish = good right?) well just still not with it at work and on the way back nearly dropped my meal onto the dirty pavement so jerked so hard to save it from falling. my belly hurt.

this is a direct quote from our maternity policy:
"Public holidays during Maternity Leave

If you are receiving Enhanced Maternity Pay, payment for public holidays is included in your EMP and therefore you may neither take a day in lieu before you begin your paid maternity leave nor accrue a day to take later for a public holiday which may be ‘missed’ during your paid maternity leave.

If you are receiving Statutory Maternity Pay only, you may, when calculating the holiday which will accrue during your maternity leave period, include public holidays which fall within this period."

As I'm getting 9 months off on full pay, I'm happy with this. I think if you have enhanced pay that is not equal to full pay, BH's are, and should be, accrued separately though.

I nearly went to the drive through KFC on my way home from the swimming pool, even though I had a sandwich waiting for me at home Just talked myself out of it at the last minute, but it was a near run thing! If McD's makes your working day bearable, go for it

littlemoog you are very lucky with your Mat pay. mins is so so rubbish that i want to just leave this company. it is based on the number of years i have been here and as i am not even here more than 5 years, they have decided to pay me full pay for the first 6 weeks!!! Then half for 12 weeks and then Stat pay for next 15 weeks (i think its in this order as have forgotten) and they will pay me for a total of 36 weeks at this reduced pattern. i want to take a year of ML, so i will clearly struggle!

yeah, we're very lucky at my work, I've not heard of anywhere else doing more than 6 months full pay. I did work 2 years as a temp and then 3 years once I got a permanent contract to qualify for it though, when I would really have liked to have our first baby about 3 years ago. There's no in between steps, it's either full EMP or statutory only and there was no way we could survive on stat only. My husband was really shocked when he compared his works maternity provision (while he was looking up the paternity leave!), he didn't realise despite me telling him repeatedly how amazing mine is.
