    Evening ladies.

Congratulations to all the new mummies and hi to all the newbies.

Marta, that is my biggest worry too. Im more concerned about how my relationship will change with OH after baby arrives than the labour. Think i am actually looking forward to the labour, yes i am strange, but Im sure that will change as soon as it starts.

Rups, that pram is nice, glad you have found one you agree on.

Moneypuddle, good luck for Monday but hope baby makes an appearance beforehand so can meet Grandma.

Money puddle I hope your induction is quick and effective and that you do indeed have bubs on Monday x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
  • rups I thought you wanted one with a carrycot? Might be me getting confused :)

marta easier said than done but try not to worry, and make the most of quality time together before there's three of you! It's especially hard to start with (as jt100 said with the leaky boobs etc!) but it does get easier when you get more settled into a routine and you know when you're likely to get time together which us uninterrupted :D

I can see why you'd be paranoid with your history but if you've both agreed you want the baby rather than one feeling under pressure from the other then I'm sure you'll be able to overcome everything together :) ,
  • And cupcake you're seriously looking forward to the labour rather than the end result of the cuddly baby?! (iPad spell check just changed that to curly baby which really made no sense!)

    Morning ladies :)

Hope everyone's well, we're away for the weekend at FIL's wedding. Had a bit of a scare last night, as we were walking home from the restaurant after dinner I suddenly got a really intense gripping pain at the base of my spine - I thought I was going into labour! It didn't go away though and I realised that it was my back problem from last year flaring up. It's been in spasm all night, I can't straighten up or put any weight on my left leg! :( luckily FIL is a surgeon, and one of the other guests is a GP, so they've sorted me out a prescription for codeine. DH is on his way to get it now, so will hopefully feel better soon, and be ready in time for the wedding at 1130! Drama drama drama!

We haven't had a list in a few pages, so I thought I'd do one. No new births I think? Let me know if I've missed something.

I've been in real discomfort sitting for the last couple of weeks. May be TMI, but my bits really hurt and are a bit swollen. I mentioned it to the midwife and she said it may be varicose veins. I Googled it and it seems 4% of women get varicose veins in their bits and it is just pregnancy related and they always go away after birth (unlike varicose veins in the leg). I think the fact that I have a desk job and have sat in the same spot for 40 hours a week for the last month is the problem, so I'm either walking about or lying down all weekend. No sitting for me.

I can't tell you how sore it is!

    Morning ladies,

Just thought I'd let you all know, as we bought these yesterday to add to the set we already had, that MAM anticolic Starter Set of bottles is on offer at Tesco at the moment for £14. We've found the ease of sterilising them a great benefit of the system, as no other equipment other than a microwave is needed, and it's so quick. I intended to breastfeed but had problems with Jonathan latching on, so have been expressing my milk with an electric pump (Ameda Lactaline, which I'd also recommend if people find they need to go down that route), and now I'm producing more milk, it's useful to have more bottles so that some are in the fridge ready to go (breast milk keeps for 6 hours at room temperature, 3 days in the fridge and 1 month in the freezer).

Hope everyone is well, and labour vibes where appropriate.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Haha, just read back and realised how that sounded, oops  The baby cuddles are definite the best part, can't wait for the little prize at the end!!

Sorry for my random words, surrender should have been sure in my last post, stupid phone changing my words.

Thanks for the link sexymouse, those are the bottles i bought at the Manchester baby show, sure it can't harm to get another set. I also found some 4+ month teats in asda the other day for 75p per pack of two.

    Xx

Marta, when i was pregnant with DD1, i felt the same emotions as you feel right now, like our time together was gone, and if i really was prepared to let that go and have a baby now. I even had days when i thought i had made a mistake getting pregnant because i did not want all the changes that it brings. DD was born and she was BF, she was attached to me day and night, my OH spent all his time feeling in the back seat but there was nothing i could do, i feel annoyed at him having his normal life and here i was 22 yo looking a mess, in my pijamas for the first 12 weeks and on top of that with a figure that it wasnt mine.
Time passed and my OH had a lovely relationship with DD, i did too. Our in laws realized that it was hard for us without outside help so we started leaving her maybe once a month with them and go for a date night. This improved our relationship a lot.... DD is 5 and started full time, i have had many wonderful dates with my hubby and we are close. This baby was planned and i am very happy that it is coming to add to our little family.
BTW my DH did not see baby coming out of me, that would have freaked him out forever. He asked this and i respected it, i really did nto want him to see it anyway just in case he could not feel the same with me afterwards.
