Hi ladies
Had almost caught up on reading but now far behind again. Thanks for the PhD wishes. Have to decide if I want the viva before or after the birth. If before, it could be in the week prior to the EDD.
Had a bit of a scare at the weekend. Had a bleed early Sunday evening after a day out with my parents so spent the last day and bit at the hospital in Lincoln. Mum's been so lovely staying with me as long as she could, getting taxies/buses to and from the hospital when they kicked her out at 2am yesterday morning.
Not sure what's caused it. Have mw appt tomorrow so maybe she may be able to understand all the additional notes that the hospital wrote. Baby's good though, that's the main thing.
(Wasn't keen on the screaming in the labour ward though; that would have been enough contraception to put me off any day - hope it's better at LRI when we have to go there).
Now for a few days off. The boss has told be I'm banned from going to work for the time being.
Hope everyone's wellLittle man arrived 13 Dec 20120 -
morning ladies hope you are all well.
not heard from ikkle or moneypuddle..? wonder if they are with their little ones yet?
mlbarrett, glad to see you are ok and glad little one is fine too. keep us posted on how you are feeling hon. xx god that viva yes.. do u think it would be better to get it over and done with before baby as after you have had your little one, you might not have the time to swat etc? up to you though sweety.i kept thikning about my driving test and at first i thought, if i failed i could always do it later, but i look at my sis in law who hasnt passed and now with two girls, she doesnt have the time and is struggling.
littlemoog glad you are better hon. your profile pic alwaya makes me smile.
i am just having a crappy work day... i am a back up for this girl and its now the 3rd time, where she has gone away and her clients are chasing me up like mad and as she has started some work for them, for me to just pick up whereshe left is hard as i have no idea. sigh.. not liking this week at all.want to just crawl back to bed. couldnt sleep much too. was having stupid dreams about dh leaving me and wee breaks. my god i am going to the toilet every other hour.. does anyone else do that too? i think yest in the whole day i must have gone over 13 times or something and 3 times during the night.

MLBarrett did the hospital not explain what had caused the bleed at all? xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

ML I had unexplained bleeding on 4 occasions with my DD. Between 21 & 25 weeks. They never found a reason for it and she's perfect, if I do say so myself. And I thought I might end up in early labour, but she was 11 days over.0

Hiya ladies, the thread has been quite quiet the last couple of days I noticed it dropped off the front page this morning, hopefully everyone's ok and just resting up and hopefully boldies are having mummy cuddles!
Today I am 35 weeks exactly, having a few problems now though, was talking to my parents about what a smooth pregnancy i've been having then found out on Friday that I have obstetric cholestasis. Had been really itchy since the Friday before and stupidly (but actually, luckily) googled it and came across that, I have excema anyway so thought it was a flare up and bought it up with my consultant on the Wednesday who sent me for a liver function blood test straight away, cue a HUGE kerfuffle over contacting me. Hospital ended up ringing my old workplace (where i've just been made redundant from) to get someone to find me and to get to hospital asap. Luckily one of my friends took the call so text me straight away, turns out hospital had the wrong number for me! They had been trying to contact me from the Wednesday and didn't get me til Friday so had a mad dash up the MDAU and sat up there on a monitor for 3 hours. Had a lovely sister though who was really funny and made me and OH feel at ease, Flump wasn't being very cooperative so she shoved him and his heart rate dropped, cue another panic, waited it out and he woke up a bit so was allowed home. Have to be monitored 3 times a week from now on with a blood test weekly too and induction planned for 37/38 weeks. Definately not what I wanted but if it's what is best for my boy then so be it. Now on 5 tablets a day and lots of Vitamin K.
Just got home from monitoring and he was much more lively today, my blood pressure was high so had to wait to try and bring it down, eventually came down then found out I had ketones so got sent straight to Asda to stock up on cereals, fruit, milk, juice and basically told to stuff my face all day, no probs with me
Just as I was leaving my examination room, this poor lady burst through the doors with her leggings round her ankles, screaming her head off. Did not know what to do with myself, then a midwife tried bringing her in my room  me and mum definately made a swift exit after that, not the best thing to witness at 9.30am after being hooked up to monitors and having needles stuck in your arm, God knows what the poor lady was going through though, that'll be me in a few weeks no doubt!
Mammoth story but I think the moral is to definately let someone know if something is different. Sometimes OC doesnt have a rash, you are just itchy and you could be mistaken for thinking it is just itchy skin but it can be pretty serious. I'm not trying to scare you ladies but I really wish i'd phoned my midwife the Friday it came up, I spent 4 days trying and failing to sleep on the sofa as didn't want to wake OH up scratching so much, making myself bleed from how fierce it was and generally being miserable because I thought this was normal. /end life story
Rups, I completely understand about needing the toilet all the time! I'm up every 3 hours at night and everytime I move on the sofa I have to run upstairs as I genuinely think i'm about to wet myself, it's awful. I hate to say it but it gets worse
Hope everyone is ok x0 -
Wow, those are a lot of trips to the bathroom! I keep forgetting to drink water and to go to the toilet, I know it sounds silly, but I might go three times during the day and maybe (only maybe) once at night (and if). I probably drink half a litre of water, nowhere near the recommended 2l (8 regular glasses), I do top it up with decaff hot drinks (probably about 6 a day) and some juice (one or two glasses)... but I am not sure if when they say "8 glasses minimum" they mean "8 glasses of water" or "8 glasses of liquid". I bought a Brita to get the tap water taste out, but even so, I am not doing any better. No wonder I have an urine infection!!
Pinecone sent me a nice jar of coffee, shame it is normal one and not decaff though. I allow myself one mug of caffenaited drink a day, but I would gladly have a second one of this sample.
I have been delaying dying my hair but I really need to do it... my roots are quite dark brown/black and they are now like 3 or 4 inches long!!! The rest is reddish brown. I have two sets of dye at home: black blue and honey blonde. There is no way the blonde will take at the minute, this reddish brown was a result of a very very very very light blonde that did not take at all! Pregnancy hair!:o So I think I will go for the black blue one. I have been meaning to do it for over two months now, but the thought of the smell and having to be with my hands up for half an hour is putting me off. I have an important event next week, so I should do it before. Preferably waaaay before, so if I mess it up it can be fixed! I remember once on a bank holiday I tried to dye it platinum blonde and it went old lady grey with patches, I panicked and went to the shops but being bank holiday I could not find anything opened! I had a set of caramel dye at home, so I put it on, I had to work the following morning at a nearby secondary school and I did not fancy the kids saying anything about my "witch hair"... well, I put that caramel brown and my hair went green. I thought that was a myth or an exaggeration (hair going green), but nope! It was that green colour that some nasty flies have on the sun, like a dark colour underneath and a green tone with the light... eeeek!I had to go like that to the school and put a poker face when the kids mentioned, and I was "yep, I know, I chose the colour myself, it is different".... :rotfl:obviously the first thing I did after school was to go an buy a very dark hair dye, lol. I once had it chicken yellow for several days aswell, mmm... actually, more than once!!
Hi mummyof2!!
barrett, I would put the viva before the EDD, that would free your mind and time completely afterwards. What did the hospital say that the bleeding might be?
Rups, do not worry too much. Her circumstances might be different, for a start she has two children, not a tiny baby. You have family around you, you might be able to arrange for someone to babysit for an hour or two every week whilst you do the lessons. Or do it during the evenings when your husband is at home. You are driving at the moment anyway with your husband, aren't you? You are getting some practice.
I am waiting for my hypnobirthing book + cd from Waterstones, I cannot wait to start with it!
I keep reading about this gym ball... what are the benefits of it? What do you use it for?Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

I am glad they managed to find you and you are on treatment now. All the best wishes!! That reminds me that it is very important to check that hospitals and GPs have the right numbers and addresses. So they told you to eat...can you have cake?
