I want to ask something, is there anybody here who has been told in the 20/21 wks scan that the placenta is lying low ? cos i have but she did not say much, i have read that if thats the case, i have to take it easy, no sex and rest. She did say that it can correct itself so i am having another scan at 36 weeks and if it is still the same, i will have a c section.

Both my friend's who had babies this month had low lying placentas at their 20 week scans. They were only told that they would check again at the next scan and by then they had both corrected themselves. They never mentioned any recommendations for rest/no sex?

Well as predicted, I'm still here, but MIL goes on her holidays this morning so don't feel too upset about it. I've got a midwife appointment this afternoon and Moon has been told to go home earlier so that he can have lunch at home, so he's coming home at 2 and the appointment is at 2.45.

Plan for the day: I need to wash my hair this morning and also need to go to Mr T to get all the things that Sainsbugs had run out of yesterday. They had no potatoes left at all! Weather is disgusting and set to stay that way for the rest of the week so hope my village doesn't get too flooded. It doesn't really affect us in the sense that our road is set further back, but last time it flooded, traffic was being diverted down our road, so it became a bit of a noisy rat-run.

Will go and find the list to update in a minute.

morocha, I think if it's very low lying then they might recommend to take it easy, but perhaps yours is just down low and therefore could be a problem at birth if it's not moved yet (you don't want to deliver it before the baby!) As it is you should have a nice fat plug blocking the entry to your cervix so shouldn't be a problem?

morocha my friend had a low-lying placenta for both her pregnancies and as her uterus expanded it self-corrected. Not sure if she had to have an extra scan later in her pregnancy to check if this had happened or not though.
