How are you? Hope your baby will be here on time. Can't believe is not long now and you'll have your baby :j

Heavy lol and my child seems to like trying to escape through my belly button instead of my fandango. I hope he will be here soon too, just wish people would stop asking me if there are any signs, I burst into tears early on cos his sister and my dad both messaged me within minutes of each other asking.

It won't be long till your counting down the final weeks you know x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Dizsie you're losing your plug already ?
I'm really upset as my slowcooker died this afternoon :(. I'll need to buy a new one and I have no idea what to buy. I don't want to spend a fortune (as I spent loads on baby but that doesn't count :D). Any idea what to buy? Have you seen any good deals around? Should I buy a big one? At the moment we have a small slow cooker for 2 but I could do with a bigger one as I would like to cook and freeze food. Are you ladies using a slow cooker?

Aida I don't have any experience of using or buying a slow cooker, but I'm sure there is a thread on the old style board that you could bump up. Do a search, and I'm sure one of the experienced oldstylers will be happy to help.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Thanks for the advice, I will get some nappy cream instead of the talc powder, and some cotton pads instead of the wipes. What about a nasal cleaner? How many bedding sets should you have for the mosses? I can see online bedding for cots, but not for mosses, am I not doing it right?

Yes, I also have the changing bag and mat from Boots :D, I think it is brilliant! Exactly what I needed, to be honest.

I might take my little wheeled hand luggage as hospital bag. I think it will be better to move around.

Rups, do not worry about weight, you cannot really compare to weight to any non-pregnant women. The recommended weight is about an extra 15Kg, this is not just the baby's weight, but also the placenta, the amniotic liquid, all the extra blood you have created, water retention and fat storage. And even that, the fat storage, has a purpose: it is there not to make us feel fat on the mirror or cushion the baby :p but to assist in the process of creating the milk among other things. You probably lose over 10Kg just by giving birth. Apparently, breastfeeding uses about 500kcal a day, which is a lot!! Add the exercise you will be having from carrying the baby around, doing all the extra chores and still continuing with your life... and you will be losing weight in no time after the birth.

I honestly do not think you can say you are overweight at 80Kg at all. Forget about what size you are wearing, this is your pregnancy size, it does not count, it cannot compared to the one you wore before because it is not normal weight gain, it is a baby developing in there, plus all what s/he needs!! I have put over 10Kg so far, and before finding out I was pregnant I was trying to lose the 5Kg I had put over the previous year, plus I expect to put another 5Kg before labour... so that will put me 20Kg over my normal average pre-pregnancy weight. I am not worried, though. I think I look good, my DH says I look good and I am beautifully pregnant, not fat; so I am going to believe him :D You lose between 10 and 15Kg at birth (for what I heard) so... not worried at all, the rushing around and breastfeeding should help me to ditch the rest.

I agree with fluff, no matter what size of coat you try on from non-maternity shops, they won't fit (unless it is a cape or similar, with no shape) because they do not allow room for the bump. I would try second hand / ebay / gumtree / freecycle / vintage shops for a coat, you are probably only going to use it for two or three months before you give birth.

So today I told Moon that I'm not going to answer the home phone at all this week, as anyone who needs to contact me personally can call my mobile (I can screen the calls) or leave a message on the answer-phone. My Mum called this afternoon to see if there was any news (we are meant to be going to dinner tomorrow evening and I've already told my Dad that we will let them know if we can't make it), and Moon answered and told her that we'd let them know if there were any news. Then this evening MIL called to see if there was any news  and to tell us that she's off on her holidays. :jMoon told her (we discussed this last night) that we'd put a note through her door to let her know one way or another when she gets home on Friday and not to call us - her reaction - "oh well I thought I'd call!" to which he said, "No don't call us we'll let you know and we just want to be left alone for a couple of weeks." :T Thank goodness I had that conversation with him and he actually took it all in. Just hope he sticks to his guns as well when she returns and turns her away if she does try to visit.

It's really difficult. I genuinely believe that people just don't realise how stressful and irritating it is. Unless they've recently had kids of their own, people simply have no comprehension of how exhausting and emotional the last few weeks are, and how continual 'had that baby yet?' questions just make you want to punch them.

To their mind, they're just being considerate and thinking of you. Plus it's just a simple question isn't it? What's the big deal? Just try to remember that it will all be over soon. In a few short weeks you'll actually have had that baby, and you'll soon forget the irritation it was to have to screen calls. Then the real irritation begins... :D

Oh Ikkle and sexymouse, try to hang in there.

Can't believe people are so...mean sometime. You will let them know when the baby is here and also, why is soooo important for them to KNOW exactly when ywe had our babies? I will let everyone know when I'm ready, not when they want .

oh gosh cookers??? hmm i am a bit useless on that as we had to get one when we moved to our place and we got a 4 gas one installed which we got from debenhams. it works really well esp the oven bit. sorry hon. i know when you dont want added costs, these appear from somewhere. today dh was trying to get us both insure on the new car and it cost us a lot because i am new driver and a brand new car so we were stressing a bit. dh asked if there is a way i can try and get job when iam off like free lancing so have to look at that option too. sigh.... money is running out..

oh guess what just happened? BIL announced he may move back at the end of this week! maybe i wnt get too excited yet!!!
