  • Hugs to you Cake. I'm finding not knowing when it's going to happen slightly unsettling and I'm only expecting one! Have you got everything ready for them?
Morocha - good luck with your test
Oh no, MummyOfTwo! What's going to happen now then? Surely, if it comes to a push, they'll be able to send a mw from somewhere? (Sorry if this is a silly idea, I've not got a clue how homebirths are organised :o)

Good luck with all the mw appointments! (Remember those pelvic floor exercises ladies!).

I think I overdid slightly on the studying yesterday so having a break this morning to do a few chores. Strange how I'm really looking forward to the weekend even though I left work weeks ago:)

  • Rups I sympathise hun; had the same issue with my OH. He was working on the olympic torches and because they were behind schedule he basically worked 12+ hour days Mon - Fri and then half day Saturday for over six months from January. He said that he was too tired to do stuff round the house and so I did all the cooking, cleaning etc as it was only meant to be for a few months to begin with despite working full time and being pregnant! Got really resentful of it as well cos I just felt like a glorified skivvy! Have been gently nagging OH a little bit lately about this as he is doing more regular hours now. I don't have a problem with do the house stuff when baby is here and we are settled into a routine cos OH will be going to work and bringing in the money to pay the bills but that doesn't mean that he can leave his empty contact lens cases lying on the arm of the sofa or his dirty boxer shorts on the landing! All I have asked him to do is pick up after himself and not leave stuff lying around cos it is just being lazy (and to be fair to OH, he has agreed that he has got into bad habits!)

Mummyoftwo hugs hun, hope they manage to get something sorted out for you x

Sexymouse hope your appt went ok hun and baby is still engaged.

I am sure someone made some sort of comment about how you seem to become depersonalised when you become pregnant (memory like a sieve!) and I agree with this. As much as I want and love this baby, I have not felt like myself all year. All anyone can talk to me about is being pregnant and the baby. It's like everything else that I am interested in or have opinions on just doesn't matter! I used to joke to my OH about just being an incubator but the truth is that is how I felt a lot of the time!

Sat in bed at the mo, was awake at half one so went on boots.com and spent about £100! Some of it was some stuff to cheer me up and other stuff was needed or for presents and I got some good deals so not too bothered. Then spent more money on the bodyshop.com - so naughty! But this is what happens when you finish work and then spend four weeks waiting for your baby to arrive! LOL. Watching Father Ted on 4OD at the mo, going to stay in bed for a few more hours I think and try and rest cos I haven't been too bad during the day but when it gets to early evening I tend to deteriorate.

Hugs to all and labour vibes to the boldies. x

thanks mmm. all advise wil be taken. like you said about the sieve thing, forget and start the nagging lol. i will back off and will just ask him. i found that with his brother. when i ask he does it so all i have to do is ask. i do hear 'i will do it later' and in that case i should wait lol. i am like my mum in that case where i dont have the patience to wait when it comes to my cleaning. lol. caaaalllm down. def need to check yoga out. lol

  • Morning! Rups - the whole pram thing is a nightmare simply cos there is far too much choice! Best thing is to decide exactly what you want and how much your budget is. Write a list if you have to. Trawl every baby catalogue and look at everything. Get a shortlist and then go out and play with them in the shops. Don't forget the wee independent baby shop retailers as well.

My requirements were to NOT have a travel system! lol! A lot of systems when i was looking were so heavy and I have some muscle weakness. I remember going into Mamas and Papas when pregnant with DS and being totally unable to lift a car seat which was empty! It depressed me!

I narrowed it down by deciding I could never lift the car seat with the baby in it anyway so a travel system was useless. Cue me looking at lightweight prams and car seats! I had such fun researching it all. I wanted a pram that would fold down in one piece without having to remove the seat unit, would fit in my car, would lie flat for when DS was small and would be half decent at off road (live in the country). I love my pram so much that I want to the double version for when this one is born. We tested it in the car the other day and it fits!! Very excited. We're going to wait and see if DS will still need a pram come start of next year and if he does then watching out for bargains on gumtree and in the shops etc! I think I get excited when you guys talk about getting stuff in for baby cos I don't have to this time. and I really want to! Lol!
  • Oh and with the others re cleaning and stuff. I'd rather my house looked lived in than was like a show house. I'm lucky in that DH is the one who prefers cleaning but even that has taken a back seat when DS was born. There is no point in worrying about it when you have a newborn in the house either! Run the hoover around the floor now and again and give the bathroom a wipe. Close every other door so no one who is visiting can see in! Worked for me and aI stressed less. We now had a deep clean every couple of weeks and hoover, dust, quick clean of bathroom and kitchen in between when we can but we don't get upset when we can't! Our house is a little untidy but it is definitely not dirty and I'll bet yours isn't either!
