Bearing in mind you will be trying to establish feeding so the less faff the better you probably would be better as a vest top or top that unbuttons down the front.

For the birth my hospital don't give you a gown unless you are having sections and then they do. I have a cheap nighty and also a long baggy vest top to wear incase I'm too warm in the nighty. Thats why a lot of people recommend the cheap nighty's from primark as for £5 it doesn't matter if it gets spoilt x

Moneypenny, I was wondering the same thing. I have a button down nightie for afterwards but nothing for labour. Was thinking I could just use one of DH's huge baggy t-shirts

I wasnt going to bother with a dressing gown as when I was in overnight last week it was so so hot even with all the windows open. Then again it has started getting a bit cooler on an evening and I didnt think about BF being easier with just a vest to pull up underneath. I might see if I can find some button down vests somewhere, no idea if they even exist!

Had a bit of a wobble earlier when I realised I could be going into labour in the next few weeks and when I mentioned it to DH I started laughing like a loon :cool:. He said you dont know whether to laugh or cry do you.... at which point I burst into tears :rotfl:. I had been feeling positive about it all after hearing how well the woman in the next bed to me had coped in labour but thats not working tonight!

welcome spudthedig and a huge congrats on your fab news. do you know what you are having?

sorry about this ladies but am feeling quite low.:( was looking forward to seeing dh after he got back from work. then he came back and started training outside and left dinner to me i suppose. i was feeling a bit sicky so i tucked myself into bed and managed to fall asleep for a bit - think half an hour. he came up then woke me up and asked whether he was doing dinner or me? at this point i got annoye dbecause he really doesnt care whether i am ill or not. as far as he knows he has had a hard day at work so he deserves to do what he wants? his stupid brother came later then and he asked him whether he would cook and he said yeah but he was taking his time, so i started cooking and i got into a really bad mood. me and then dh ended up having a full blown argument where dh shouted so much and his brother heard everything. apparently i moan and moan at him and he is tired. i agree i nag but its because he doesnt do stuff. he has barely done anything in the house this week and just gone out and for kung fu. am i being sillly here? i feel so low at this point. then i had a coughing fit upstairs and my chest was so sore because it is all chesty. yuck. i cant breathe properly as well. i feel sad now because i am thinking what have i married here? a man who doesnt even show any emotion or sympathy. as long as he does his bit by providing money he thinks he is done. sigh.. sorry ladies. just want to sit and cry and now i am hating his stupid brother being here. he heard it all.

Yay, last day at work today! It feels great to have finally finished. Got 14 days until baby is due so going to enjoy my time off. Going swimming at 7am tomorrow morning.

In the grand scheme of things its not a big deal and I know its not but I have to admit I was slightly gutted to notice my first stretch mark yesterday and my midwife also actually pointed it out to me at my 38 weeks appointment today too. How kind of her
